Tuesday’s three-game WNBA slate features the Lynx vs. Dream, Liberty vs. Wings and Sun vs. Sparks.
Which players can we find value for in these late-season matchups?
Two WNBA player props for this Tuesday slate have caught my eye, including Tina Charles to score 17 or more points and Arike Ogunbowale to finish with fewer than 22 points.
Andrew Norton's WNBA Player Props for Tuesday, Sept. 10
- Tina Charles Over 16.5 Points (-120)
- Arike Ogunbowale Under 21.5 Points (-105)
Tina Charles Over 16.5 Points (-120)
Lynx vs. Dream | 7:30 p.m. ET, NBA TV
For as well as the Lynx have played in the past month, they still have a glaring hole that needs to be fixed if they wish to be a true contender. That hole: rebounding.
Minnesota ranks last in defensive rebounding percentage this season, which will result in opportunities for Charles to pick up a few offensive rebound put backs.
Additionally, since returning from the All-Star break, the Lynx have allowed opponents to shoot the second-most field goal attempts inside of five feet at the third-highest percentage in the W.
This is good news for an interior player like Charles, who has a wide array of moves she can go to and even has some craft to the way she finishes around the rim on drop offs and back doors.
Further, Charles has been on fire after the month-long break, averaging 18.3 points per game on roughly 49% shooting from the field and 31% from behind the arc.
In her past six games, Charles’ volume has been fantastic, taking just shy of 18 field goal attempts per game en route to clearing this line (16.5) five times.
Expect a strong showing from Charles, even if the Dream get blown out.
Pick: Tina Charles Over 16.5 Points (-120)
Arike Ogunbowale Under 21.5 Points (-105)
Liberty vs. Wings | 8 p.m. ET, CBSSN
Talk about a scoring tear. Ogunbowale has averaged 25.4 points per game on a 45/35/100 shooting split in her past seven games, propelling the Wings to three surprising wins.
However, her two best performances in that span came against the Los Angeles Sparks (33 points) and Indiana Fever (34 points).
Are we noticing a trend?
Ogunbowale has gone nuclear against bottom-tiered defenses recently, but she's been held to much more modest results versus better defenses, such as the New York Liberty, Ogunbowale’s opponent tonight.
In two games versus the Liberty, she's scored just 19 and 17 points on 38.7% shooting from the field and 31.3% from 3-point land.
New York has been incredible on that end of the floor in its past 10 games, ranking first in defensive rating (92.5) by a wide margin while holding opponents to the second-lowest field goal percentage (42%) and third-lowest 3-point percentage (31.2%) during that stretch.
Ogunbowale will have a tough time putting points on the board against this elite Liberty defense that she's already struggled with in 2024.
