WNBA star Angel Reese has partnered with Shaq and Playmaker HQ’s “The Big Podcast Network” to launch her own podcast, Unapologetically Angel, the company announced Tuesday.
Reese will be joined by a co-host, Maya Reese (no relation), to produce new episodes every Thursday beginning Sept. 5. The podcast will be available on YouTube and wherever you find your podcasts.
The podcast is the latest in Playmaker’s growing network of shows, including The OGs with Mike Miller and Udonis Haslem, and The Roommates Showwith Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart. (Playmaker HQ and Action Network are both part of the Better Collective family of brands.)
Reese burst into the spotlight in 2023 when she helped lead LSU to a national championship in her first season in Baton Rouge. This past spring, she was the seventh overall pick in the WNBA Draft by the Chicago Sky, and she’s had a historic rookie season.
On Sunday against the Las Vegas Aces, Reese became the first WNBA player ever to record 20 or more rebounds in three consecutive games. Earlier this season, she set the WNBA record for most consecutive double-doubles (15) and has posted 22 total double-doubles on the season. In 24 games, she’s averaging 13.5 points and 11.9 rebounds per game.
Entering Tuesday, her Rookie of the Year odds were +1500, which were second to rival Caitlin Clark of the Indiana Fever, who is the -3000 favorite.
