StubHub Tops Ticket Prices for WNBA Games, With Seat Reaching $3,496

New data shows that StubHub leads in ticket prices for WNBA games among major sellers like Viagogo, Tickets Center, Vivid Seats, MegaSeats, and Ticketmaster.

In an analysis looking at past and future WNBA matchups, the highest ticket price recorded is $3,496 for an Indiana Fever and Atlanta Dream game on Aug. 26. Not only is that six times more expensive than MegaSeats’ most expensive seat at $536, but it’s also three times more expensive than popular ticket seller Ticketmaster, whose most expensive ticket is $1,125 over the same time period (an Atlanta Dream and Las Vegas Aces game on July 12).

Vivid Seats is on the higher end of ticket sales, with their most expensive ticket only $406 cheaper than StubHub's, sitting at $3,090. Viagogo and Tickets Center's most expensive tickets for the five matches we looked at differ by only $32, with Viagogo being more expensive at $2,221.

We took a look at ticket prices for several games, including the July 12 Dream and Aces matchup, the July 14 game involving the Seattle Storm and Dream, the Fever's game against the Dream on Aug. 26, a Washington Mystics matchup against the Dream on Setp. 15, and a Dream versus New York Liberty game on Sept. 19.

Vivid Seats, Viagogo and Stub Hub Lowest Tickets Are 2x Cheaper Than Ticket Center and MegaSeats

StubHub and Viagogo have low ticket prices at $23, while Vivid Seats offers the lowest price among major sellers at $21.

On the other end of the spectrum, Tickets Center's lowest ticket prices for WNBA games in July, August, and September are $49, while MegaSeats offers the lowest price at $39, just $10 less than Tickets Center's cheapest ticket. 

Viagogo Average WNBA Tickets Almost 5x More Expensive Than Average Ticketmaster

Data shows that Viagogo's average ticket price is $489.16, which is five times more expensive than Ticketmaster’s average ticket price of $98.47.

Tickets Center follows closely with an average ticket price of $316.84, just $172 less than Viagogo. 

MegaSeats, on the other hand, is on the lower end of the spectrum, with an average WNBA ticket price of $122.30, making it four times cheaper than Viagogo’s average ticket price.

Vivid Seats Give Best Chances of Scoring WNBA Tickets

You have the best chance of scoring a WNBA ticket in July, August, and September through Vivid Seats, with a 56.6% chance.

It may be more challenging to secure WNBA tickets from MegaSeats and Ticketmaster, as they have limited availability for these months, each with only an 8% chance of securing tickets.

Methodology

To analyze WNBA ticket prices from six major sellers including Viagogo, Tickets Center, Stub Hub, Vivid Seats, MegaSeats, and Ticketmaster for July, August, and September, we first collected ticket price data for five games s from all sellers, calculated the average ticket price per month for each seller, then identified the lowest and highest prices within each month for 4,330 WNBA tickets. 

In addition, we found the chance of scoring a ticket at a specific retailer by dividing the number of tickets available from that retailer by the total number of tickets available (4,229) from the five matches looked into from all retailers, then multiplied the result by 100 to convert it into a percentage.
