The trio of Shohei Ohtani, Mike Trout and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. have held down their spots in the AL MVP betting market one month into the season.
However, certain players are on the rise — like Byron Buxton and Jose Ramirez — while others — namely Bo Bichette, Corey Seager and Jose Abreu — slide back.
We'll be monitoring AL MVP odds and how they shift all year long. Compare MLB futures to make sure you're getting the best prices.
Who is the AL MVP favorite?
1. Shohei Ohtani (+350)
Ohtani's still the favorite, though he's been adjusted from +300 to +350.
The Angels phenom is only hitting .226 with four homers entering May 3. And although pitcher losses aren't all that important, he's notched as many L's through four starts on the mound this year (2-2) than across 23 in 2021.
2. Mike Trout (+400)
Trout's won AL MVP three times in his career. He's top five in baseball in both overall WAR (1.8) and offensive WAR (1.6) for L.A., which is out the gates with an AL West-leading 15-9 clip through the early stages.
3. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (+450)
Guerrero enjoyed his breakout year in 2021. He's still a contender in this market, on a good team.
Plus, he can go on a tear in the blink of an eye.
Is four home runs in the last three games good?!

4. Jose Ramirez (+1000)
Ramirez has made arguably the biggest stride over the first month. He's ripping the cover off the ball, leading the majors in total bases, RBIs and ranking second in oWAR.
5. Byron Buxton (+1200)
Buxton's on fire through the early stretch, coming up big in clutch moments. He's parked seven homers for a red-hot Twins club that's rattled off 10 wins in their last 11 outings.
6. Aaron Judge (+1300)
Judge struggled the first few weeks at the dish, but is picking up the pace in a hurry. He's bashed all eight of his home runs across the last nine games, a span which also includes 14 of his 16 runs batted in.
7. Wander Franco (+1500)
Get accustomed to seeing Franco's name atop this market for years — maybe decades — to come.
He already owns the sixth-best WAR in baseball (1.5).
9. Rafael Devers (+2000)
Devers is still a top-10 candidate, but he's struggling to put up big numbers on a Red Sox club scuffling in general.
Devers has only driven in nine runs, while his .464 slugging would be the lowest since his 2018 season.
