Tyler Anderson has been one the luckiest pitchers in baseball by most indicators and faces a Giants lineup offering several potent bats versus left-handed pitching.

San Francisco's offense will be well situated to continue its dominance over lefties in this matchup, which is the angle we are targeting with our SGP, paying out at +400.

Let's break it all down in my Angels vs Giants Same Game Parlay for Friday, June 14.

Angels vs Giants Same Game Parlay

  • Tyler Anderson Over 2.5 Earned Runs
  • Matt Chapman Over 1.5 Total Bases
  • Heliot Ramos Over 1.5 Total Bases

Parlay Odds: +400 (bet365)

Tyler Anderson

Over 2.5 Earned Runs

Anderson is pitching way above his head right now, and it's hard to make a case that he is actually a far superior pitcher than last year other than his current 2.63 ERA. Anderson put up a 5.43 ERA last season, and his 4.66 xERA and 5.02 xFIP this season suggest he will trend towards that mark in 2024.

Anderson's K/BB ratio is down to 1.61 this season. His Stuff+ rating is up slightly (94) year over year, while his Location+ is the same as last season at 99. Opposing hitters have an xSLG rate of .588 on his four-seam fastball. Opponents own a ground-ball rate of just 28% versus his fastballs this season, which is the 6th lowest mark among qualified starters.

Batters own a BABIP of just .219 versus Anderson this season, but most indicators suggest that mark will rise towards his career .284 average.

The Giants lineup has hit to a wRC+ of 155 over the last month of play, with an OPS of .893. They own a 0.62 BB/K ratio over that span, with a 34.5% hard-hit rate.

San Francisco has a great opportunity to continue its dominance over southpaws in this matchup, and backing Anderson to allow over 2.5 earned runs is a natural first leg of our parlay.

Matt Chapman

Over 1.5 Total Bases

One key reason for the Giants dominance over left-handed pitching has been Matt Chapman, who owns a 191 wRC+ against southpaws, which ranks 11th in MLB among batters with over 50 plate appearances. He owns a 1.026 OPS versus lefties, and 55% of his hits versus LHP have been for extra bases.

Chapman's 58% hard-hit rate against left-handed pitching ranks first in MLB this season. Anderson has allowed a 4.98 xFIP to right-handed batters.

If the Giants get to Anderson, there's a good chance it involves extra bases for Chapman. Backing him to record over 1.5 total bases makes a good second leg of our parlay.

Heloit Ramos

Over 1.5 Total Bases

We'll round out our parlay backing Heliot Ramos to continue his excellent start to the month in this favorable matchup. Ramos owns a .652 slugging percentage and 1.082 OPS in June. While it is a small sample size, features a highly convincing underlying profile.

Ramos has a hard-hit rate of 57% across 135 plate appearances this season. He has hit .385 versus left-handed pitching, with a wRC+ of 292. His absurd 24.3% walk-rate versus lefties is concerning as that is obviously a bad outcome for us, but we can look past that given how excellent the rest of the splits favor him in this matchup.
