The New York Yankees are on a roll, taking seven of their last eight behind some exceptional offensive production. Now, they'll send arguably their best arm to the bump in Luis Gil to keep the good times rolling against an Angels team that's struggled to score runs lately.

Rookie Davis Daniel will be the man to try and halt New York in its tracks, and amidst a so-so season to this point that seems like an incredibly tricky proposition.

Could a Yankees bat or two be in play on Tuesday as we aim to craft a winning same game parlay?

Let's break down the best combination of bets for a Angels vs. Yankees MLB parlay.

Angels vs Yankees MLB Parlay: SGP Picks

  • Austin Wells 2+ Total Bases (+145)
  • Anthony Volpe to Record a Run (-110)
  • Nolan Schanuel to Record a Run (+115)

Parlay Odds: +994 (FanDuel)

SGP Pick #1: Wells 2+ Total Bases

Let's start this off with the plus-money leg that might wind up being the safest bet we make on Tuesday, and that's Austin Wells to rack up a pair of total bases.

The Yankees' rookie backstop has really come into his own over the last 11 games he's started,  hitting .370 in 46 at-bats over that span. He's registered just a handful of extra-base hits in that span, with a double, triple and two homers.

He should be in a favorable spot against a pitcher who's generally pitched to contact in the air over his brief big league career and has been averse to the ground ball throughout the minors.

Wells is hitting a cool .263 against fly ball arms this year to rate fourth in this Yankees lineup. While he's found some recent success against left-handers, he's displayed a clear preference to hit righties since being taken in the first round of the 2020 draft.

Hitting fourth in the order, we should get plenty of chances to cash in, and Wells figures to face Daniels at least twice in a favorable matchup.

SGP Pick #2: Volpe to Record a Run

Another man in this Yankees lineup who's looked like a changed man of late is Anthony Volpe, who's slashing a crazy-good .359/.369/.656 since making some adjustments over the All-Star break.

He's scored 12 runs in 15 games and has crossed the plate at least once in the past six games, totaling eight over that span.

Volpe should have a great shot to reach base against Daniel, who carries a .282 expected batting average across 22 innings. Helping matters is the fact that Volpe has hit a blistering .275 versus fly-ball arms this year and has demonstrated an excellent ability to run the bases.

I don't have the benefit of looking at the lineup as I write this, but Aaron Boone has been looking at the best way to fill the leadoff spot for the better part of two months and might just decide to insert Volpe there on Tuesday.

Alex Verdugo has been "a little beat up," according to Boone, which forced him out of the lineup over the weekend. If he's to miss this one or be eased back into action, the leadoff spot could very well be Volpe's.

The Gleyber Torres experiment at the top of the order hasn't worked well this year, and it seems as if Volpe's done more than enough to earn a higher spot in the lineup.

That would only make this bet more attractive.

SGP Pick #3: Nolan Schanuel to Record a Run

One man we can be sure will hit at the top of the order is Nolan Schanuel, who should prove to be a hard man for Gil to pitch to all night long.

The left-handed hitter may have struggled initially after being rushed to the bigs late last year upon being taken in the first round of last year's draft, but time has seemed to heal all wounds.

He hit just .214 with a .302 on-base percentage in April and went .232 and .287 in May, but since the start of June, he's slashed .279/.389/.421.

One of the keys for Schanuel will be his expert command of the strike zone, as he ranks in the top 8% of the league in chase rate and whiff rate while walking in an impressive 11% of his plate appearances.

We know Gil doesn't offer much to his opponents on contact and racks up strikeouts better than any Yankees arm, but the one soft spot in his 146 big-league innings has been walks, as he's issued them on 12.1% of the batters he's faced.

I realize the Angels don't have the best offense in the world right now, but we should be able to count on Schanuel to reach base plenty in this contest.

Even with the lack of production we've seen out of L.A., he's still scored a run in nine of his last 12 games, totaling 11 over that span.

Picking out two different runners to cross the plate in the same game is a tough task, which is why we're seeing an incredible jump in the odds, but Schanuel certainly warrants consideration here.
