Atlanta Braves Betting Preview: Offensive Success to Continue

We're back at it again with the Atlanta Braves, as I previewed their series finale against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Sunday.

While Spencer Schwellenbach wasn't sharp, the Braves' red-hot lineup did put together a late rally before ultimately coming up short.

Their offensive success continuing in a losing effort is a great sign of things to come, as they begin a new series with the Colorado Rockies at one of the most hitter-friendly ballparks, Coors Field.

While the Braves took a ton of flak for their rough 0-8 start, that's all behind them, as they've won seven of their last 10. Also, their lineup now ranks fifth in xWOBACON.

This talented lineup is beginning to hit the ball with authority on a consistent basis, and that's troublesome for Rockies starter Ryan Feltner.

Last season, Coors Field did Feltner no favors, as he held a 5.10 ERA and 1.43 WHIP in 15 home starts. This year, Feltner has found some success at home, but the contact metrics suggest some regression, and it's all unfortunate timing with his assignment on Monday.

However, the scoring won't stop after Feltner departs this one, as the Rockies' bullpen is overdue to implode. Colorado comes into this matchup with a 3.98 bullpen ERA, but its collective FIP of 4.70 tells a much different story.

Look for Atlanta's bats to stay hot on Monday and light up the scoreboard.

Colorado Rockies Betting Preview: Bright Spot for Lineup

Saying that the Colorado Rockies' lineup has gotten off to a rough start may be putting it nicely. They come into this matchup last in xBA, xSLG and xWOBA.

This team hasn't made any consistent hard contact, and in fact, making contact in general has been a struggle, as they also hold the highest whiff rate in the majors.

The bright spot for this Rockies lineup is their matchup on Monday against Bryce Elder, who's struggled almost as much as they have. Elder comes into this outing with a 5.57 ERA and 1.48 WHIP through five starts.

Elder is a ground-ball specialist, and those have been there for him. But he hasn't missed many bats, and that could give the Rockies' lineup some life on Monday.

There are too many question marks to factor in.

Braves vs Rockies Prediction, Betting Analysis

As I alluded to above, this game could very well go easily with the outlook of both starters.

However, I don't have much faith in the Rockies to get the ball in the air, even against a scuffling Bryce Elder.

The other side of this matchup is the one to focus on, as the Braves' lineup is in great form and will be in a great spot to do damage at Coors Field. So, back them to clear their team total.

Pick: Braves Team Total Over 5.5 (-135)

Moneyline

I certainly lean towards the Braves, but you can get better pricing with alternate angles.

Run Line (Spread)

The Braves' run line is in play, especially if they open this game up against the Rockies' bullpen.

Over/Under

I'm taking a derivative of the total, as I don't trust the Rockies' bats.
