On Friday night, we were victorious with the under in this series opener between the Angels and White Sox. Now, we're going back to Guaranteed Rate Field for a play on the finale of this three-game set.
Reynaldo Lopez is in a great rhythm, allowing just two runs combined in his past two outings.
This doesn't look like a fluke, either. For the first time in a while, the 24-year-old is starting to pick up strikeouts with more regularity, something that made him such an appealing prospect coming up with the Nationals.
Lopez has amassed at least six K's in three consecutive assignments.
Meanwhile, the other starting pitcher in this matchup, Andrew Heaney, has not been quite as consistent as of late, but as I've highlighted before, I'm a big fan of this former first-round draft choice and believe he can end the campaign strong.
Heaney will be in a spot Sunday to make a statement toward that cause, as the White Sox aren't particularly good with an opposing left-hander on the hill.
They punch out once every 3.37 at-bats — which can be very beneficial to a strikeout artist such as Heaney — and they're tied for the fourth-fewest home runs against a southpaw.
With the way the juice is currently set up, you may as well put your bet in right away for this under, as there's a possibility it drops to 8.
Play: UNDER 8.5 (-115)
