One of the hottest teams in baseball plays in Philadelphia tonight — and it's not the Phillies. The St. Louis Cardinals have climbed back to the .500 mark after winning 12 of their past 15 games.

The Cards head to Citizens Bank Park for the weekend to face the National League East-leading Phillies, who return home from a 2-4 road swing at Colorado and San Francisco.

Cardinals vs Phillies odds have the Phillies as -215 moneyline favorites, with an over/under of 8 (-110o /-110u). Find my Cardinals vs Phillies prediction on the first five innings (F5) spread below.

St. Louis Cardinals

After starting the season at 15-24, the Cardinals have turned things around with their recent hot stretch to reach 27-27 after winning their fifth consecutive series.

St. Louis captured two out of three games at Cincinnati this week with the lone loss coming in the opener following a late-night finish at home against the Cubs on Sunday.

The Cards' pitching staff has stepped up, allowing three runs or fewer in four straight games while improving to 5-2 in the past seven contests away from Busch Stadium.

Miles Mikolas has played a big role, as St. Louis is 3-0 in the right-hander's last three starts. Mikolas defeated the Brewers as a road underdog and followed that up with a pair of no-decisions in home wins over the Red Sox and Cubs.

His season ERA is still ugly at 5.64, but the St. Louis starter owns a 3.71 ERA over his last three starts.

Mikolas wasn't bad in his first start against the Phillies this season, allowing two earned runs in nearly seven innings of work.

The Cardinals rallied with two runs in the ninth inning to force extra innings, but the Phillies came out on top, 5-3, marking St. Louis' third loss against Philadelphia with Mikolas on the mound since 2023.

From a first-five innings perspective, the Cardinals are 0-4 in their last four road series openers, as they have been outscored, 14-2, in those games.

Philadelphia Phillies

Despite some struggles on their recent road trip, the Phillies still own a 6.5-game lead over the Braves in the NL East.

Philadelphia lost two of its four games in extra innings, including a 1-0 decision in 10 innings at San Francisco on Tuesday.

The Phillies ended the swing on a high note with a 6-1 rout of the Giants on Wednesday, snapping a season-high three-game losing streak.

In the last 20 games at Citizens Bank Park, the Phillies have won 18 times. On top of that, one of those two losses came in extra innings to the Mets on May 16.

Aaron Nola heads to the mound in the series opener tonight, and the Phillies have posted an incredible 9-1 record in his last 10 starts since losing his season debut against the Braves.

Nola actually got bailed out in his last outing at Colorado. The Phils trailed, 3-2, heading into the ninth inning before they stormed back for six runs to shock the Rockies, 8-4.

The Phillies are 4-1 in Nola's previous five home starts while being listed as a -200 favorite or higher against the likes of the Rockies, White Sox and Nationals.

Nola defeated the Cardinals at Busch Stadium in April, 4-3, as he scattered three hits and yielded two runs in six innings of work.

From a first-five innings standpoint, Philadelphia has put together an incredible 17-1-2 record at home against right-handed pitchers.

Betting Pick & Prediction

Philadelphia hit its first snag of the season on this past road trip, but ending with a win on Wednesday might be the thing that puts this team back on track.

The F5 numbers for the Phillies are fantastic this season, especially at Citizens Bank Park. On the flip side, Mikolas has slumped to a 1-8-2 mark in the first five innings.

Let's take the Phillies to slow down the Cardinals in the first five tonight.

Pick: Phillies F5 -0.5 (-138 · Play to -140)
