Cardinals vs Pirates Predictions & Betting Analysis
In Tuesday's matchup, we'll see two aces, Sonny Gray and Paul Skenes, go head-to-head in a divisional matchup. We are backing both Skenes and Gray to pitch well, anticipating a low-scoring game and the Cardinals covering +1.5.
Skenes will be looking to build off a great start and add to his early Cy Young resume. Through two games this season, he has given up two earned runs, with 13 strikeouts and six hits. We expect him to continue his dominance tonight against a Cardinal' offense struggling to produce.
On the other side of the bump, we also expect Gray to pitch well. Gray has recorded six or more strikeouts in two straight games, and Pittsburgh currently ranks in the top six in most strikeouts per game. Gray will be looking to bounce back after giving up five earned runs in his last outing. With a divisional game on the line, a low-scoring game is expected.
St. Louis +1.5 is the final play here. It will probably be a one-run game either way. With two aces facing off, we predict a 2-1 Cardinals win.
