Guardians vs Padres Preview, Prediction, Betting Analysis
In a late-night Tuesday matchup between the Padres and Guardians, we will see Padres' ace Michael King take the mound. I am backing the Padres to win, with Fernando Tatis leading the charge as he goes for his fifth straight game with a hit.
Tonight’s matchup favors the 5-0 Padres for several reasons. To start, King is looking to bounce back from a lackluster season opener in which he pitched just 2 2/3 innings in a 7-4 win against the Braves on Opening Day. I'm confident he'll bounce back.
Additionally, the Padres bats have been performing great, averaging just shy of five runs per game. Specifically, Tatis, Manny Machado and Jackson Merrill all are hitting above .333.
As previously mentioned, Tatis is aiming to extend his hitting streak and I believe he will. Through 20 at-bats this season he has nine hits, three RBI and one home run. Most importantly, however, as the leadoff batter, he has 13 total bases and is proving to be a dominant leadoff hitter.
I'm also backing an alt under. With King on the mound, I see this game being low scoring. Four of the Padres' first five games have gone under 10.5 runs.
