The Detroit Tigers (8-5) and Minnesota Twins (4-10) play the second game of their three-game series on Saturday afternoon at Target Field. First pitch is set for 2:10 p.m. ET; the game will be broadcast on Twins.TV and FanDuel Sports Detroit.
The Tigers took the Friday series opener and have now won six of their last seven games. The Twins try to even the series up on Saturday with Chris Paddack on the hill; he will be opposed by Jackson Jobe, who's had a rocky start to the 2025 MLB season.

Tigers vs Twins Preview & Prediction
The Detroit Tigers drafted right-hander Jackson Jobe with the third overall pick of the 2021 Major League Baseball Draft. Entering this season, MLB Pipeline ranked him as the fourth-highest prospect in the league.
However, the 22-year-old still has some development to do. Through his first two starts, Jobe has posted a 5.00 ERA and 1.56 WHIP.
His underlying metrics suggest these struggles are likely to continue. Entering this matchup, Jobe ranks in the bottom third of the league in expected ERA (xERA), strikeout rate, walk rate and barrel rate.
Following Jobe is a fade-worthy bullpen. This year, Detroit’s relief staff ranks in the bottom 10 in ERA, fielding independent pitching (FIP) and wins above replacement (WAR).
Meanwhile, the Minnesota Twins’ bullpen also ranks in the bottom half of the league in expected FIP (xFIP). Before the relief staff enters the game, right-hander Chris Paddack is slated to take the mound.
Paddack has had as poor a start to the season as one can have. Through two starts, he is 0-1 with a 14.73 ERA and 2.59 WHIP.
Paddack’s analytics suggest further struggles are ahead. He currently ranks in the 38th percentile or lower in xERA, expected batting average (xBA), strikeout rate, walk rate and barrel rate.
The good news for Paddack is that he should receive a solid amount of run support against Jobe and Detroit’s struggling bullpen.
Tigers vs Twins Prediction, Betting Analysis: Over/Under
While Minnesota should fare well at the plate, it is even more likely that Detroit will. This season, the Tigers rank in the top eight in runs per game, hits per game, batting average, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, OPS and home runs.
That success is likely to continue against Paddack. Through 21 combined plate appearances against him, the current Detroit roster boasts a .350 batting average, .600 slugging percentage and .416 weighted on-base average (wOBA).
Finally, there have been nine or more total runs scored in each of Paddack’s two starts this season.
Pick: Over 8.5 (-102 | Play to -110)
Moneyline
I lean toward Minnesota, but don't want to lay the juice with Paddack.
Run Line (Spread)
I like the Twins to cover, but don't want to bet on them for the same reason listed above.
Over/Under
As mentioned, I'm betting Over 8.5 at -102.
My Pick: Over 8.5 (-102)
