A magical Mets run is teetering on the brink after being outclassed by the Dodgers in Games 3 and 4 of the NLCS at Citi Field.

Los Angeles thumped New York 8-0 in Game 3 to take a 2-1 series lead, then put themselves one win from capturing the National League pennant in a 10-2 throttling in Game 4. Oddsmakers love the Dodgers' chances to do just that.

Los Angeles is -1000 to win the series at DraftKings, while the Mets are +900. That makes sense, considering New York is looking to become just the ninth team in 47 attempts to come back from being down 3-1. Meanwhile, the Dodgers are favored at -142 to seal the deal in Game 5 on Friday, while the Mets are +120 to win. The Dodgers are also -1.5 on the run line at +130, while the Mets are +1.5 at -155.

Los Angeles has been in complete control after losing Game 2, 7-3. Their pitching’s been superb, allowing only two runs in their back-to-back wins. They’ve also come through when needed too much, as the Mets went 0-for-15 Thursday with runners in scoring position.

Meanwhile, their bats have more than held up their end of the bargain as those from the leadoff spot down to the nine-hole are crushing Mets pitching. Their top stars, Shohei Ohtani and Mookie Betts, went five-for-nine in Game 4 with three walks while combing for seven runs, six RBIs and two home runs.

Simply put, the Dodgers have been far and away the better team against a beleaguered and exhausted Mets team, who they’ve outscored 30-9. So, it’s not much of a surprise to see why oddsmakers like Los Angeles put the series away on Friday. Jack Flaherty will take the bump for the Dodgers, while the Mets have yet to announce whether it will be Kodai Senga, David Peterson, or someone else.
