The Los Angeles Dodgers can clinch their spot in the World Series tonight with a victory over the New York Mets. The Dodgers lead the best-of-seven series 3–2 and will have two opportunities to clinch at home if needed.
The Dodgers are utilizing a bullpen game tonight, and the Mets will turn to their ace, Sean Manaea. I’m not ready to count out the Mets quite yet, as they’ve proven time and time again that they are never out of it, despite the amount of adversity or odds against them.

Francisco Lindor is 6-for-20 in the NLCS and is coming off back-to-back two-hit games. The Mets have their backs up against the wall for what feels like the millionth time this season, and he has delivered in almost every single one of those moments.
The Mets need Lindor to keep their season alive, and I feel he will come through again tonight. He should see an array of Dodgers relievers, which typically causes issues for the offense with abundant unfamiliarity.
Lindor should have plenty of at-bats tonight, and I have a good feeling about the Mets coming through in Game 6. If they do, it’ll likely be because Lindor had much to do with it.
After an offensive explosion in Game 5, the market adjusted the total to open at 8.5. We haven’t seen much movement off that 8.5 number, as perhaps a battle is ongoing between both handles.
Well, I expect a much lower-scoring game tonight. Given that it is an elimination game, both managers will aggressively pitch. Dave Roberts has a bit more leeway with the Dodgers up 3-2 in the series, but I’m sure he doesn’t want his team going to a Game 7, given they’ll have the most pressure on them.
I also believe Mets starter Sean Manaea will continue his postseason dominance. Many people have now been exposed to Manaea’s change in delivery, as he’s added a lot more torque and sideways motion.
It’s been something he’s done since late July, and his numbers have been excellent. During the playoffs, Manaea had one tough start against the Brewers, but he was outstanding in the others.
He allowed three runs in 5 IP to the Dodgers in Game 2, but the Mets had a comfortable lead already. It also helps that Freddie Freeman is not his usual self, dealing with a few lingering injuries.
We all know how dominant the Dodgers bullpen has been, so it’s not necessarily a disadvantage that they’ll be rolling out multiple relievers tonight. This is also a market play for me, especially since over 80% of the bets are on the over.
The public seems to believe that the offensive outburst will continue, but I noticed a lot of sharp money has come across the counter on the under. I’ll ride with the sharps and fade the public perception here, and I'd like to see Manaea to step up for the Mets tonight.
Yes, I already gave away the idea that I would be on the Mets to win tonight. But how could you faithfully lay a -145 moneyline pregame with the Dodgers?
The last time the Dodgers went with a bullpen Game, the Mets got off to a hot start in Game 2. They scored six runs in the first two innings, and although I don’t expect that same offensive outburst, I give them the advantage in winning the game.
Just as I mentioned, with the aggressiveness of both managers tonight, I expect the Mets to take advantage when they get runners on base. We may see more small-ball and stolen bases when given the opportunity.
The Mets have proven all year long that they can throw the kitchen sink at their opponents when they need a big win, and they never seem to be out of a ball game. I’ll also mention that 12% of the bets are on the Met's moneyline, so there aren't many believers out there that think the Mets can get the job done besides New York fans.
Sometimes, you must throw all the analytics and numbers out the window in these situations. I know that the Mets are not out of this series. I won’t go out on a limb and say they’ll pull off the complete comeback, but I know a lot of Dodgers players will be pretty nervous heading to the ballpark tomorrow if the Mets win tonight.
It’s the narrative battle between the recent disappointment of the Dodgers' postseason efforts, versus the Met's magic carpet ride run of 2024. Please give me the Mets tonight to somehow sneak away with a win to force Game 7, and I think we'll see Francisco Lindor have a huge night to help provide that lift.
