  • Both teams have split the first two games of this series, but is there value on the road favorite Dodgers to cover the run line?

We have a National League West division matchup as the Colorado Rockies host the Los Angeles Dodgers in the rubber match of a three-game opening series.

Rockies outfielder Connor Joe hit a go-ahead home run in the bottom of the eighth inning that was the difference in the 3-2 win last night. Who will get the job done on Sunday and take the series?

Urias Looking to Continue Success vs. Rockies

What a run for Julio Urias in the last two years for the Dodgers. Urias recorded the final out of the Dodgers' 2020 World Series win and followed that up with a 20-win regular season in 2021. The 25-year-old has established himself as one of the best pitchers in the National League.

Last season, Urias faced the Rockies four times and three of those games were at Coors Field. He pitched at least 5.2 innings in all four and the Dodgers won all four.

The Dodgers won by at least two runs in three of those games. Urias threw 61 pitches in his last spring training start so he should be able to throw at least 80 pitches here and get through five or six innings.

Can Senzatela Step Up for the Rockies

Rockies starting pitcher Antonio Senzatela faced the Dodgers four times last year. He allowed at least four earned runs and the Rockies lost three of those games and he failed to complete four innings in two of those games. The one time he beat the Dodgers, Senzatela shut them out for seven innings, but that was in Dodgers Stadium, not Coors Field.

This Dodgers lineup is incredibly deep. Derek Carty recently called them basically an All-Star team. After only seven runs scored in the first two games of the season, I expect the Dodgers offense to breakout on Sunday against Senzatela.

There's too much talent on the team for them not to and catcher Will Smith was out of the lineup Saturday and should be back in there for this matchup.

Dodgers-Rockies Pick

I like the Dodgers to win big here. Los Angeles has the best offense in the league, they're due to breakout against a pitcher they beat up on a couple times last year and they have their best pitcher on the mound.

The Rockies are in big trouble in this spot so take the Dodgers run line at -130 or better.

Pick: Dodgers -1.5 (-130 at DraftKings)
