Guardians at A's — No Runs First Inning (-141)
Matchup | A's (Montas) vs. Guardians (Civale) |
First Pitch | 9:40 p.m. ET |
Best Line | Caesars |
Friday, we're on a NRFI between two bad American League offenses.
Frankie Montas is a NRFI ace, holding a 37-10 NRFI record since 2020. More impressively, he holds a 21-3 home NRFI record in that same time span. He's also gone 3-1 against the Guardians in this category.
The Cleveland bats are finally coming back to earth after a hot start. In the last seven days, Myles Straw is only hitting for a .160 batting average, but it’s not just him slumping; both Franmil Reyes and Amed Rosario are hitting .136 and .185.
Montas does also hold the advantage in the matchups against the top of Cleveland's order.
- Myles Straw: 0 for 7
- Amed Rosario: 1 for 5
- Jose Ramirez: 4 for 13
Aaron Civale isn’t something great, but he’s a proficient 2-1 to the NRFI in 2022 and 24-12 to the NRFI since 2020.
Oakland is one of the worst hitting teams in the MLB. The A's are tied for 24th in the MLB in home YRFIs. They also hold the 23rd ranked first inning batting average at .191. They are slightly worse at home as well hitting for a .174 first-inning home batting average.
They too are slumping in the last seven days. Tony Kemp, Seth Brown, and Elvis Andrus are all hitting for a sub .200 batting average.
Plan for two poorly hitting teams to continue to struggle in the first inning. Take the NRFI between the Guardians and Athletics.
FanDuel and DraftKings are already at -170 as of Friday morning, so jump on the -141 at Caesars.
