The Dodgers were down and out on Tuesday night, trailing the Rockies, 9-4, with three outs remaining. However, Los Angeles mounted a crazy comeback, capped off by Teoscar Hernandez's three-run homer, to stun Colorado, 11-9, and grab the first two games of this NL West series.

Colorado has dropped three straight games since scoring 16 runs against the Pirates on Saturday. The Dodgers, meanwhile, have won three straight games and scored 20 runs in the first two games of this series.

Will the Dodgers claim this rivalry series on Wednesday night, or will the Rockies take our their frustrations on the returning Bobby Miller? Find out in my MLB betting preview below, which features a Rockies vs Dodgers prediction.

Los Angeles Dodgers

For those who had Los Angeles on the moneyline and run line on Tuesday, those tickets were ready to go in the trash with the five-run deficit in the ninth inning.

Even after the Dodgers received a grand slam from Jason Heyward, they still had work to do when Hernandez checked his swing with two strikes and two outs.

Instead of Hernandez getting rung up for a game-ending strike-three call, first base umpire Lance Barksdale (who will be behind the plate today) decided Hernandez held up, allowing the Dodgers outfielder to take the lead on the next pitch with the three-run homer.

The Dodgers have defeated the Rockies four straight times since losing at home to Colorado as a three-dollar favorite on May 31,  plating 20 runs in the first two games at Coors Field — all without second-leading hitter Mookie Betts.

Los Angeles seeks its sixth road victory in seven tries tonight, as right-hander Bobby Miller makes his first start since April 10. Miller has been sidelined the last two months with shoulder inflammation but produced a strong rookie season in 2023 by compiling an 11-4 record and a 3.76 ERA.

Miller's season debut was terrific, as he struck out 11 batters against the Cardinals in a 6-3 home victory. However, he allowed seven runs in 5 2/3 innings against the Cubs and Twins in a pair of road losses.

In Miller's lone start against Colorado last season, he posted nine strikeouts and yielded two runs in seven innings in an 11-2 blowout in Denver.

Colorado Rockies

The Rockies closed out May by winning four of their five games, including the massive underdog victory at Dodger Stadium on May 31.

However, Colorado has gone through the June swoon by putting together a 4-13 record, including a dreadful 1-7 mark at Coors Field.

The Rockies have scored five runs or more in five losses this month, which is even more deflating because Colorado allowed eight runs or more in each of those defeats.

Ryan Feltner didn't face the Dodgers at Chavez Ravine earlier this month but was racked by Los Angeles last season in a pair of losses. Feltner allowed five runs each time and failed to strike out a single batter in three innings of that 11-2 setback opposite Miller last September.

The Rockies are 1-5 in Feltner's last six starts, which includes three home losses. Feltner was taken deep three times against the Pirates his last time out. The right-hander has now given up four runs or more in four consecutive outings.

Prior to the Pittsburgh defeat, Colorado had cashed the over in 12 consecutive starts made by Feltner.

This total opened at 11.5 but has dropped to 10.5, which is interesting because the first two games closed with 12- and 11-run totals and were completely obliterated.

Betting Pick & Prediction

Feltner has been an over machine this season, so we'll see if the Dodgers can carry the momentum of last night's late comeback into this game against him.

Los Angeles has gotten off to slow starts in the first two games of this series, scoring three and two runs in the first five innings before exploding late each time.

Feltner has cashed the first-five innings under in his last two outings, and Miller should be fresh heading into this game to deliver three or four strong innings.

Pick: F5 Under 5.5 (Play to -130)
