No player has more money wagered on him to win the National League MVP award than Manny Machado, but the San Diego Padres third baseman is out for the foreseeable future with a left ankle sprain.

His odds did not move from +500, in part because he wasn't placed on the injured list.

Machado is currently batting .328 with a .545 slugging percentage. He also has 12 home runs, 46 RBI and owns 4.0 wins above replacement (WAR).

20.5% of the betting handle at BetMGM with regard to the NL MVP is on Machado, but Paul Goldschmidt is currently the favorite at +175.

Goldschmidt has attracted 6.3% of the betting tickets and only 5.8% of the handle.

He's hitting .339 with 16 home runs and 58 RBI, in addition to a .614 slugging percentage and 3.7 WAR.

Bryce Harper has received the highest ticket percentage at 15.2%, but he accounts for just 10.7% of the handle.

Harper has totaled a .622 slugging percentage on a .326 average with 15 home runs and 48 RBI.

Pete Alonso is now the third-favorite for the award at +700, with the Mets first baseman accounting for 8.5% of the handle at a near identical 8.7% ticket percentage.

Alonso leads the National League in home runs and RBIs.
