The Atlanta Braves are kicking themselves for blowing a 4-0 lead against the New York Mets in Monday's 8-7 defeat.
The two National League East rivals meet again tonight at Truist Park as the Braves are heavy home favorites again, looking to avoid consecutive losses for the first time this season.
The Mets traveled to Atlanta off its first series win of the season at Cincinnati. New York was on its way to its seventh loss after veteran right-hander Julio Teheran was roughed up in less than three innings against his former team.
However, the Mets rallied back, thanks to a pair of home runs from leadoff hitter Brandon Nimmo, who drove in five runs in the victory.
They cashed as nearly +200 underdogs, marking their fourth win in the last five games.
Tonight, the Mets turn to right-hander Adrian Houser, who makes his second start for New York after coming over in the offseason from Milwaukee.
Houser turned in a solid debut last Thursday against Detroit by allowing three hits and one run in five innings. However, New York blew a 3-0 lead as Detroit scored three runs against the Mets' bullpen before the Tigers won in extra innings.
In the last seven games since getting swept by the Brewers, the Mets have trailed through five innings only once; on Monday against the Braves, they were tied at 4-4 after five innings.

The Braves needed two big comebacks in their first two wins against the Diamondbacks this past weekend, but the tables were turned on them last night. Atlanta has actually overcome a deficit in four of its six wins, while blowing a lead of two or more runs in two of three losses.
Reigning MVP Ronald Acuna, Jr. has struggled out of the gate, hitting .222 while going 0-for-7 in the past two games.
Former White Sox right-hander Reynaldo Lopez takes the mound for the Braves tonight, coming off a loss as a heavy favorite to his old team in his Atlanta debut.
Lopez tossed six innings and yielded four hits and one run in a 3-2 setback to the White Sox last Tuesday. For as well as Lopez pitched, his offense didn't help him by not scoring a run until the seventh inning as Chicago's Garrett Crochet shut down the Atlanta lineup.
Atlanta has scored five or more runs in each of its four home games as the Over has cashed three times. When the Braves faced Houser and the Brewers at Truist Park last July, the right-hander was torched for six runs in four innings of a 10-7 home win.

Betting Pick & Prediction
Through 10 games, opposing starting pitchers facing the Mets are 7-3 to the Under on its strikeout props. Lopez is listed at 4.5 strikeouts shaded to the Over, so looking at the Under at plus-money is worth consideration.
In spite of Houser's struggles in his last start against the Braves, he should turn in a better performance than Teheran did last night to avoid an early hole.
Lopez showed some promise in his first outing, albeit coming against the awful White Sox.
Let's take the Under tonight between the Braves and Mets in the second game of this series.
