This NLCS series has been a slugfest, with every game being decided by a margin of at least five runs. The New York Mets threw a haymaker of their own in Game 5 against the Los Angeles Dodgers to push the series back to the West Coast for Game 6, and potentially Game 7.

Will the Mets keep the magic going, or will we see the Dodgers punch their ticket to the World Series tonight?

Let's dive into my Mets vs Dodgers Game 6 props and my MLB picks for Sunday.

Mets vs Dodgers NLCS Game 6 Props

  • Sean Manaea Under 15.5 Outs Recorded (-130, DraftKings)

Sean Manaea has become the ace of this Mets' staff, and his ascension has continued in the playoffs. In Game 2, Manaea worked around some command issues to limit the damage over five innings of work, but with the season on the line and a rested bullpen, his leash may be much shorter if we see the walks begin to pile up.

The Dodgers are a tough matchup for Manaea for two main reasons. First, they are built to crush left-handed pitching. Los Angeles led the majors in wRC+ and was third in OBP against them.

Secondly, their discipline will make Manaea work hard. The Dodgers led the National League in walk rate, and we've seen their selectiveness at the plate play a big role in this series. This is a team that does not chase much and will hunt strikes.

All of this points to Manaea going no more than five innings tonight.

In the pick above, I discussed how the Dodgers are well-constructed to hit left-handed pitching. Well, there's no better example of that than Tommy Edman.

Edman has absolutely destroyed lefties in a Dodgers uniform. In 36 plate appearances this season, he hit. 412 off them with a .470 ISO. While that is a small sample size, his mashing of lefties has continued in the postseason.

In 12 plate appearances this October, Edman is hitting .583 off lefties. Not to mention, he is also two for three off Manaea with a home run.

In addition to the great matchup for Edman, his spot in the lineup puts him in a great spot to produce. In the six-hole, he's behind five tremendous hitters who are almost always on base in front of him.

If Edman records a hit in this one, it will likely produce a run or two.
