Matchup | Sandy Alcantara vs. Trevor Williams |
First Pitch | 7:05 p.m. ET |
Today, we travel to Nationals Park to find value between two National League East teams, the Washington Nationals and the Miami Marlins.
Taking the mound first for the Nationals is Trevor Williams, who has been nothing short of outstanding to the NRFI this season. Williams boasts an impressive 12-2 record and a remarkable 6-1 home NRFI split. He's on a terrific 12-1 NRFI run when pitching at home dating back to last season.
Williams owes his success to his ability to neutralize leadoff hitters, allowing a mere .147 batting average this season. Notably, Williams has held his own against key Marlins hitters in previous matchups, including Jorge Soler (0-4), Garrett Cooper (2-9), Luis Arraez (1-6) and Brian De La Cruz (2-7).
Opposing Williams is Marlins ace and reigning NL Cy Young Sandy Alcantara. Alcantara has been nearly flawless this season, posting an impressive 12-1 record to the NRFI. His dominance extends to an outstanding 38-7 record dating back to last season.
When facing batters for the first time through the order, Alcantara has been formidable, allowing a mere .198 batting average. Notably, Alcantara has had the upper hand against the Nationals' lineup in past encounters, with notable performances against Luis Garcia (1-15), Dominic Smith (2-17), Lane Thomas (0-15), Joey Meneses (1-7) and Riley Adams (0-3).
When considering that the Marlins are going for their 11th straight NRFI, the price tag of (-115) on both Caesars and FanDuel is tremendous value.
As always, six outs to glory…
