On Tuesday, we will look to take the NRFI between two teams with their respective aces on the mound.

Pablo Lopez, despite being 5-3 thus far  is a phenomenal NRFI pitcher holding a 31-9 record since 2020. Lopez is arguably a better pitcher on the road than at home. In 19 innings on the road this season, he holds a 0.47 ERA with 17 strikeouts. This translates well to his past NRFI road success.

Lopez is 16-2 to the NRFI on the road since 2020. Specifically, when Lopez is a road dog in a non-division game he is 13-1. He has also had NRFI success against the Rays; since 2018 he is a perfect 4-0.

Here is how he has fared in the matchups:

  • Ji-man Choi: 1-for-8
  • Kevin Kiermaier: 1-for-4
  • Yandy Diaz: 1-for-5

Rays young superstar Wander Franco has been slumping. Over the past seven days he is 1-for-13 good for a .077 average.

On the other side we have Rays ace Shane McClanahan. He's 6-2 to the NRFI in 2022, continuing his NRFI success from last season where he now ranks 27-7 to the NRFI. In 32 first inning batters faced McClanahan has only issued one walk and seven hits good for a .233 average. Shane is also holding hitters the first time through the lineup to an amazing .152 average striking out 27 of 66 hitters.

Shane has a slight edge in the matchups today as well since he is 1-0 to the NRFI against the Marlins, here is how he has done in the past:

  • Jazz Chisholm Jr: 0-for-3
  • Jorge Soler: 0-for-2
  • Jesus Sanchez: 1-for-2

In the past seven days Avisail Garcia and Jazz Chisholm are hitting for a combined 6-for-35 good for a .171 average.

I expect both of these pitchers to remain undefeated towards their opponents picking up another NRFI victory today. As always, six outs to glory.
