On Friday, there's NRFI value at LoanDepot Park in an NL East matchup between the Phillies and Marlins.

Sandy Alcantara is one of the most reliable NRFI pitchers in baseball. Entering Friday, he owns a 14-4 NRFI record in 2022. Against 70 first-inning batters this season, he has only allowed 10 hits (.167).

Here is how key Phillies hitters have fared against him in the past:

Rhys Hoskins: 6-for-29
Kyle Schwarber: 4-12
J.T. Realmuto: 6-20
Didi Gregorius: 3-for-13

Schwarber is also in the midst of a slump as he is just 2-for-24 over the last week at the plate.

The Phillies will counter with Kyle Gibson on the mound. He owns a respectable 14-3 NRFI record this season. Seven of those 14 scoreless frames have come on the road, making his road NRFI split an impressive 7-1 in 2022.

Several Marlins have struggled against him over their careers:

Jesus Aguilar: 4-for-14
Avisail Garcia: 5-for-32
Bryan De La Cruz: 0-for-5

There are also a few Marlins who are slumping below a .200 average over the last week:

Jesus Sanchez: 2-for-22
Garrett Cooper: 2-for-18
Miguel Rojas: 4-for-23
Brian Anderson: 4-for-22

The Marlins bats have struggled to hit early in games this month as they have a lousy .191 first-inning average in July, ranking 25th in the majors.

The Phillies hit the NRFI on the road over 80% of the time, and the Marlins have hit the NRFI over 80% of the time as well. Bet on these slumping offenses to remain cold against a pair of strong first-inning pitchers.

As always, six outs to glory…
