Brewers vs. Pirates — No Runs First Innings (-132)
Matchup | Brewers (Burnes) vs. Pirates (Contreras) |
First Pitch | 7:05 p.m. ET |
Best Line | FanDuel |
On Friday, there's NRFI value at PNC Park in a matchup between the Brewers and Pirates.
Corbin Burnes is in elite company with a 13-2 NRFI record in 2022 and 37-7 overall since 2021. Like Shane Beiber, Burnes is also a first-ballot Hall of Famer when it comes to NRFIs. When facing batters the first time through the lineup, he is holding them to a .175 average.
Here's how the Pirates' bats have fared in the past against Burnes:
Bryan Reynolds: 4-for-14
Ke’Bryan Hayes: 0-for-6
Daniel Vogelbach: 1-for-3
In the last seven days, some Pirates hitters have also been in noticeable slumps:
Ke’Bryan Hayes: 4-for-21
Michael Chavis: 2-for-18
Diego Castillo: 3-for-18
On the other side, the Pirates' No. 5 overall prospect Roansy Contreras will toe the rubber. The 22-year-old has started off his NRFI career strong by going 7-0 overall with a 3-0 home split. In 18 innings pitched at home, he holds an outstanding .048 ERA compared to his road ERA, which sits at 4.56 over 23 innings pitched.
Despite only having a few games under his belt, he has fared well against these Brewers bats so far:
Willy Adames: 0-for-1
Andrew McCutchen: 0-1
Christian Yelich: 0-for-2
Rowdy Tellez: 0-for-1
It should be noted that the Brewers' Tellez is just 4-for-21 in his last seven days and is projected to bat fourth today.
Bet on Burnes to continue his Hall of Fame NRFI campaign and for Contreras to continue his rookie tear by moving 8-0 to the NRFI.
As always, six outs to glory…
