Javier
Matchup | Diamondbacks vs. Brewers · Mets vs. Astros |
First Pitch | 2:10 p.m. ET · 2:10 p.m. ET |
Today, we will create a custom No Runs First Inning (NRFI) bet by analyzing the performances of two pitchers. This personalized bet can be crafted through sportsbooks such as DraftKings, Barstool and BetMGM. This NRFI bet is different from a traditional NRFI, as it combines two separate half innings from the first innings of two different games. This approach allows you to have a better edge and tailor the bet to your preferences.
Our first selection for today's custom NRFI is Zac Gallen, the ace of the Arizona Diamondbacks and a potential Cy Young contender. Gallen has been in exceptional form this season, boasting an impressive 12-3 record to the NRFI. Gallen's overall NRFI performance since 2022 stands at an impressive 39-7.
Gallen's success can be attributed to his impressive batting order split, as he has held leadoff hitters and second hitters to a combined average of under .209. He has allowed only 18 hits in 87 at-bats to both groups collectively. Notably, Gallen has held his own against the Milwaukee Brewers hitters, including Willy Adames (0-8), Brian Anderson (1-6), Victor Caratini (1-5), Rowdy Tellez (1-6), Christian Yelich (3-11) and Luis Urias (2-8).
It's worth mentioning that in the last seven days, the Milwaukee Brewers have struggled significantly in the first inning, with a meager .190 average and only four hits in 27 plate appearances.
Our second selection will be Cristian Javier of the Houston Astros. Javier has been impressive to the NRFI this season, holding a solid 12-2 record. Since 2022, his overall NRFI record stands at an impressive 31-8. When facing batters for the first time through the order, Javier has allowed a mere .214 batting average.
Additionally, the New York Mets rank as the third-worst team hitting team in the first inning, managing just a .170 average with 24 hits in 159 plate appearances when on the road this season. It's worth noting that certain Mets hitters such as Jeff McNeil, Brandon Nimmo and Eduardo Escobar are currently in a slump, all batting under .200 in the last week.
In previous encounters, Javier has faced a select few of the Mets hitters, but has held his own against Mark Canha (2-14), Starling Marte (0-4), Daniel Vogelbach (0-2) and Tommy Pham (1-5).
This custom NRFI selection is now available at three different sportsbooks: DraftKings, Barstool and BetMGM. At the time of this writing, the best available odds are at DraftKings (-136).
As always, six outs to glory…
