Luzardo &
Wheeler
Matchup | Marlins vs. Nationals · Phillies vs. Athletics |
First Pitch | 1:35 p.m. ET · 4:07 p.m. ET |
Today, we will create a custom No Runs First Inning (NRFI) bet for Sunday, June 18 by analyzing the performances of two pitchers. This personalized bet can be crafted through sportsbooks such as DraftKings and Barstool.
This NRFI bet is different from a traditional NRFI, as it combines two separate half innings from the first innings of two different games. This approach allows you to have a better edge and tailor the bet to your preferences.
Our first selection for this custom NRFI is Jesus Luzardo, the talented left-hander from the Miami Marlins. Luzardo has showcased his proficiency this season, boasting an impressive 12-2 record to the NRFI. His overall NRFI performance since last season stands at an outstanding 27-4.
When facing batters for the first time through the order, Luzardo has been highly effective, limiting them to a mere .192 batting average on 23 hits in 120 at-bats. In previous matchups, Luzardo has managed to hold his own against hitters from the Washington Nationals, including Dominic Smith (1-6), Joey Meneses (1-6), Luis Garcia (2-11), Riley Adams (0-2), and CJ Abrams (0-4).
For our second selection for this custom NRFI for Sunday, June 18, we have Zack Wheeler, the ace of the Philadelphia Phillies. Wheeler has been a force to be reckoned with this season, compiling an impressive 11-3 record in NRFIs. His strong performance extends to an impressive 34-6 record since last season.
Similar to Luzardo, Wheeler has been exceptionally proficient when facing batters for the first time through the order, allowing only a .205 batting average on 24 hits in 117 at-bats. The Oakland A's, though generally struggling with their hitting, have been particularly feeble in the first inning over the past week, boasting a paltry .091 average and managing only 2 hits in 24 plate appearances.
This custom NRFI is -175 on DraftKings sportsbook, but there is an also a significant edge to be had on Barstool Sportsbook, as they are offering this custom NRFI at -145.
As always, six outs to glory …
