Shayne Trail breaks down his favorite NRFI/YRFI bets of the day below, but you can follow all of his bets in the Action Network app.
Luzardo &
Greinke
Matchup | Marlins vs. Mariners · Reds vs. Royals |
First Pitch | 9:40 p.m. ET · 8:10 p.m. ET |
Today, we will create a custom No Runs First Inning (NRFI) bet by analyzing the performances of two pitchers. This personalized bet can be crafted through sportsbooks such as DraftKings and Barstool. This NRFI bet is different from a traditional NRFI, as it combines two separate half-innings from the first innings of two different games. This approach allows you to have a better edge and tailor the bet to your preferences.
For our first selection, we turn to Jesus Luzardo of the Miami Marlins. Luzardo has been in exceptional form this season, boasting an impressive 12-1 record to the NRFI. Notably, he holds a flawless 5-0 road NRFI split. Building on his success from last season, Luzardo's overall NRFI record now stands at an impressive 26-3.
Luzardo has proven to be formidable against opposing batters, particularly during their first time facing him. His performances have been nothing short of magnificent, allowing only a meager .179 average on 20 hits across 112 at-bats. Looking back, Luzardo has consistently held his ground against hitters from the Seattle Mariners. J.P. Crawford went 0-4, Ty France is 1-8, Julio Rodriguez stands at 0-2, Eugenio Suarez is 0-3, and Jared Kelnic holds an 0-1 record against Luzardo. Adding to his advantage, the Mariners have been struggling lately, posting a meager .195 average in the first inning across 45 plate appearances.
For our second selection of this NRFI, we have veteran Zack Greinke representing the Kansas City Royals. Greinke has been in stellar form this season, boasting an impressive 11-2 record to the NRFI. Notably, his home NRFI split remains flawless at 18-0, a remarkable feat. Interestingly, Greinke has never faced any of the young Cincinnati Reds hitters except for Luke Maile, who holds an 0-4 career record against him. It's worth mentioning that in the last seven days, Stewart Fairchild, Luke Maile and Spencer Steer have all been struggling at the plate, batting well below a .200 average.
This custom NRFI is -160 on Barstool Sportsbook, but DraftKings Sportsbook is providing a significant edge by offering this NRFI at -133 and a near-significant 30-cent difference.
As always, six outs to glory…
