We had a solid day on Tuesday, going 1-1, with the loser coming on a half-unit sprinkle. That brings the NRFI model up to just over 7% ROI on the season.
Only one game stood out as worth playing on Wednesday, with many of the games projecting as close to a coin flip in the model.
Let’s dive into my MLB NRFI pick and model prediction for Wednesday.
MLB NRFI, YRFI Picks and Predictions — April 9, 2025
Reds vs. Giants NRFI/YRFI Prediction
Starting Pitchers: Nick Martinez vs. Justin Verlander
Both starting pitchers have fairly average first-time-through-the-order splits, but there are plenty of other factors that push this one to the NRFI side of the equation.
Neither team is especially dangerous at the top of the lineup, with only the Reds' Elly De La Cruz standing out as a potential concern.
The total is just 7.5 runs, and nothing about either lineup suggests those runs are more likely to be scored early.
