The Braves and Brewers NLDS Game 1 will pit Atlanta's Charlie Morton against Milwaukee's Corbin Burnes.
This NLDS features one of the most intriguing matchups this MLB postseason, for many reasons, but mainly because of just how competitive the regular-season series was.
Atlanta and Milwaukee split the six-game regular-season series 3-3, with the Brewers winning three of the last four games.
Burnes should also give Milwaukee bettors quite a bit of confidence in terms of pulling out the win this weekend. He finished the regular season with an 11-5 record and 2.43 ERA.
The clutch Milwaukee offense, however, is the main reason to back them in Friday's Game 1 tilt.
In the most recent Braves-Brewers matchup on August 1, key in-season acquisition Willy Adames hit a 394-foot home run off of Game 1 starter Charlie Morton, and the Brewers bullpen shut the door on any comeback bid in a 2-1 win.
Adames has been hitting for decent power this season with 25 homers, and if the Brewers' lineup can get a few more runners on base than usual, Milwaukee won't have to sweat out a low-scoring pitcher's duel.
In any event, our latest MLB PRO Report shows that Milwaukee's combination of timely hitting and a robust bullpen should supply MLB bettors with enough confidence to back the home favorites on Friday.
