  • Though the Mariners and Athletics played in Japan last week, the true MLB opening day is Thursday and opening odds are out.
  • Two terrific pitching matchups headline the slate, with Jacob deGrom and the Mets taking on Max Scherzer and the Nationals (1:05 p.m. ET) and Justin Verlander and the Astros visiting Blake Snell and the Rays (4:10 p.m. ET).
  • At -300, Masahiro Tanaka and the Yankees are the 2nd biggest opening day favorites we have on record against the Orioles.

Opening Day odds are here! Last Thursday, we had March Madness action all day. This Thursday, America's Pastime arrives. Buckle up, it's going to be a long summer.

There are a few matchups that stick out in particular, with Mets-Nats leading the way at 1:05 p.m. ET. Reigning Cy Young winner Jacob deGrom takes on a 3-time winner of the award and last year's runner-up, Max Scherzer, in a matchup that kicks off what will be a competitive NL East race.

Unfortunately, the nationally televised game in that time slot is Orioles-Yankees, which currently boasts the second largest favorite in Opening Day history in our database (Kershaw -355 vs. Padres, 2017).

The 4 p.m. showdown between Justin Verlander and Blake Snell is the second Cy Young vs. Cy Young runner-up matchup of the day. Though Snell took home the hardware, it's the Astros and their potent lineup who have opened as slight road favorites.

The only night game will be in Seattle, where the 2-0 Mariners host Chris Sale and the World Series champion Red Sox. Opening at -172, Boston is easily the largest road favorite of the Thursday slate.

Keep your eyes open for sharp action, model picks, props and more opening day content in the next 48 hours.
