Will Priester's Cardinals vs Reds Best Bet: Back Singer
By Will Priester
I've found it hard to trust Brady Singer at times because he's been as up-and-down as they come for me in the prop world.
This season, at least to start, the numbers speak for themselves. Singer has a 28% strikeout rate and is mostly balanced to lefties and righties. Yes, it is still early, but there are signs of life for this one and I want to take advantage.
Pick: Brady Singer Over 5.5 Strikeouts (+108)
Dead President Picks' Royals vs Rays Best Bet: Expect Limited Scoring Early
The Tampa Bay Rays (14-14) and Kansas City Royals (14-15) clash in an American League showdown on Tuesday Night.
Jonathan Aranda, who leads the team with a .309 average and a .412 OBP, leads the offense, which will look to provide support for Taj Bradley (2-1, 5.08 ERA).
Meanwhile, the Royals are 6-4 over their past 10 and led by Bobby Witt Jr. and his .315 batting average. Michael Lorenzen (2-3, 3.90 ERA) will get the start and is part of the reason I'm backing the under for the first five innings.
Bradley is much better than his early season numbers indicated as his ERA is inflated from one bad start against the Yankees in mid-April. I expect him to return to form soon and facing one of the worst offenses in baseball — Kansas City ranks 29th in runs per game (3.14) — could certainly help.
Additionally, Lorenzen has been solid and has strong numbers in a limited sample size against Tampa Bay.
Pick: First 5 Innings Under 4.5 (+110)
Chris Prince's Red Sox vs Blue Jays Best Bet: Devers Heating Up
By Chris Prince
After a historically bad start to the season, we are finally seeing Rafael Devers start to get it rolling. He has two homers in his past three games and has covered this number in each contest, racking up 11 total bases over that span.
Bowden Francis is toeing the slab for the Blue Jays and has had major struggles with lefties this season. Francis has coughed up a .363 wOBA along with an alarming .309 ISO, but what really stands out is the hard contact he's giving up, which is way up at an insane 84.1%.
As bad as those numbers look, things could be even worse, as his BABIP against lefties sits at just .205, so he's had some luck on his side. And as we know, luck eventually runs dry.
I'm smashing this prop at plus odds tonight!
Pick: Rafael Devers Over 1.5 Total Bases (+110)
