As usual, there's a big MLB slate on a Tuesday night, giving us plenty of options for a profitable night of sports betting.
I'll be looking to back two pitchers tonight in Colin Rea and Jose Soriano. Meanwhile, Miguel Andujar will look to help the red-hot Athletics take Game 2 from the Astros in Oakland.
Let's dive into my top MLB player props and proppicks for the Major League Baseball slate on Tuesday, July 23.

Brewers vs. Cubs
Brewers starter Colin Rea is averaging four strikeouts per game this season, and 16 of those games have been starts. Tonight, we'll need one more from him — but that shouldn't be an issue considering this matchup.
In his last three starts against the Cubs, Rea has racked up at least five strikeouts all three times. He averaged 6.3 strikeouts over that stretch, including an eight-K game against the Cubs last month.
Now, it's worth mentioning that all three of those starts were in Milwaukee. Rea has a 3.70 ERA at home and 3.86 ERA on the road — fairly similar numbers — but his strikeout rate is lower on the road. He has 26 strikeouts in 46 2/3 road innings this season.
However, the Cubs rank seventh in strikeout rate against right-handed pitchers this season. Michael Busch, Seiya Suzuki, Ian Happ, Christopher Morel and Dansby Swanson are all striking out at a rate of 23.8% or higher.
Milwaukee hurler Tobias Myers, Rea's teammate, is not a major strikeout artist himself, but he has still recorded six strikeouts in his last two starts against the Cubs, including last night. Plus, Arizona's Ryne Nelson and Brandon Pfaadt posted nine and seven strikeouts against the Cubs over the weekend, respectively.
The Cubs have scored seven runs in their last four games, and their offense has been struggling with Cody Bellinger on the injured list. I expect Rea to take advantage tonight in five or six innings.
Pick: Colin Rea Over 4.5 Strikeouts (+105)
Astros vs. Athletics
Miguel Andujar has played 48 games with the Athletics this season, his most since his rookie year in 2018 when he looked poised to become one of the key cogs in a young Yankees core.
Now 29, Andujar is trying to regain that form and then some. He's hitting a career-best .303 for the season, including a .379 mark over his past seven games.
Last night, Andujar got Oakland on the board with an RBI double that scored Max Schuemann and then Lawrence Butler on an error. Andujar then came around himself on a double by JJ Bleday.
Butler, Bleday and Brent Rooker are additional reasons I like this bet for Andujar.
In his last 10 games, Butler has six multi-hit games and has moved into the leadoff spot for the last six. Bleday has six hits and has driven in three runs in his past four games, while Rooker is hitting .428 with seven home runs and 20 runs batted in this month.
If Butler gets on, Andujar will have the chance to drive him in, and Bleday or Rooker can drive in Andujar if he gets on.
Andujar has scored and driven in a run in each of his past four games. Overall, he has hit this line in seven of his last eight games. He also had three multi-hit games against the Angels over the weekend.
Tonight, he will face Houston rookie Jake Bloss, who has allowed four runs in 7 2/3 innings in his first two starts. Bloss may be capped at five innings, which would give Andujar three opportunities against him.
The A's are averaging 8.4 runs over their past seven games, and I expect Andujar to be a major factor in their offense again tonight.
Pick: Miguel Andujar Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (-105)
Angels vs. Mariners
The last time Jose Soriano pitched in Seattle, he allowed four runs. But the key is that he battled through six innings. In his final start before the All-Star break, he also went six innings against the Mariners. In that start, he allowed just one run on five hits while punching out five.
The 25-year-old has now hit this line in seven of his last nine starts and went an even five innings in another start. In six of those outings, he went at least six innings.
He also pitched into the eighth inning against Texas and Arizona. Both of those starts came on the road, where he has a 3.09 ERA this season.
Soriano will have an opportunity for another quality start against the Mariners tonight. The M's may be without Julio Rodriguez once again as they await the status of his MRI, and they placed J.P. Crawford on the IL after he fractured his pinky last night.
But even with them in the lineup, Seattle ranks 28th in runs scored this season.
That bodes well for Soriano, who's averaging 18.4 outs over his last five road starts. He may go six innings again tonight, but 16 outs will cash this line.
