Today, we have just a six-game slate, but still plenty of opportunities to cash in. Three players I'll be looking to back for my Thursday MLB player props are Kyren Paris, Jose Soriano and Jackson Chourio.
Let's dive into my MLB player prop picks for Thursday, April 10.
MLB Prop Picks — Thursday, April 10
- Kyren Paris Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + Runs Batted In (+135, DraftKings)
- Jose Soriano Over 4.5 Strikeouts (- 125, Fanatics)
- Jackson Chourio Over 1.5 Total Bases (-115, bet365)
Angels vs Rays Player Props: Paris Powering Up
The Angels are off to a surprising 7-4 start and Kyren Paris has been a major factor in it. His first taste in the big leagues did not go well as he had just 10 hits in his first 91 career at-bats. In the early going, he is slashing .440/.533/1.120. However, Paris is not just slapping a bunch of singles.
Paris has a home run in each of his past three games. Paris has five home runs thus far this season and three of them have been off right-handers. One right-hander he hasn't faced is Zach Littell. Last season, right-handed batters hit .271 with 10 home runs and 30 RBI against Littell.
Home run streaks can be fickle, but Paris is +900 on bet365 for a home run today. However, he also has a hit in eight of his past nine games and has scored a run in seven of them. That has helped him clear this line in seven of his past eight games. With that kind of recent history, I can't turn down a +135 price.
Angels vs Rays Player Props: Soriano’s Strikeout Edge
In his first start this season, Jose Soriano tossed seven scoreless innings while striking out five against the White Sox. The Guardians touched him up for five runs in his last start, but he still struck out nine in 5 and 1/3 innings. That is not easy as the Guardians ranked 27th in Strikeout Rate last season.
Soriano has what would appear to be another difficult matchup on paper against the Rays. Through their first 11 games, the Rays are 26th in Strikeout Rate against right-handed pitchers. However, Soriano had six strikeouts in both of his starts against Tampa last season.
Soriano has fanned five in seven of his last eight starts dating back to last season. He has also worked into the sixth inning in each of his two starts. If he does so again, I like his chances of getting five strikeouts again today.
Brewers vs Rockies Player Props: Chourio Keeps Climbing
The Milwaukee Brewers scored 17 runs in yesterday's win, their most in nearly three years. It is no surprise that it happened at Coors Field or that Jackson Chourio was right in the middle of it. Chourio extended his hitting streak to 11 games last night. During that stretch, he is hitting .346 with four home runs and 16 runs batted in.
In the first two games of this series, Chourio has a double, triple, and home run to go along with seven runs batted in. Today, he will face Ryan Feltner, who he is 1-for-4 against. Today's game should also be ideal for him considering that he hit .307 on the road and .305 in day games last season.
Chourio has three straight games with two hits and five of them have gone for extra bases with three home runs. He is +600 on bet365 for a home run today. He also has recorded two total bases in seven of his last 11 games and in four of his last five games in Colorado. Look for him to stay hot today.
