The "Fall Classic" is finally upon us, and it is the heavyweight matchup that many had predicted back in April. While this series is filled with star talent, the first game of the series may be highlighted by the two men on the mound — Gerrit Cole and Jack Flaherty.

Let's dive into my Yankees vs Dodgers player props for Game 1 of the World Series.

The last time we saw Jack Flaherty, it was a rough scene. The Dodgers ace was tagged for eight earned runs and eight hits in three innings. However, that was the first start that Flaherty threw on regular rest since coming to the Dodgers.

The Dodgers have been great at managing his workload, but the effects of his wearing down showed in his last outing, as the results were poor. One thing to watch as he makes this start on six days rest is his fastball velocity.

Flaherty's fastball velocity was down two miles per hour. However, with ample rest and the nerves of Game 1, we should see his velocity return, which will aid him against a Yankees lineup that has struggled against right-handed pitching down the stretch.

Over their last 30 games, the Yankees are hitting just .218 off righties, and only three hitters in New York's lineup have a BAA of .260 or higher against right-handers this season.

Lastly, Flaherty's window to allow runs may be shortened to five innings regardless of how sharp he looks. We've seen Dave Roberts rely heavily on his bullpen, and with all his arms rested, he will use that to his advantage.

Teoscar Hernandez Player Props: Expect a Quiet Night in Game 1

We flip sides here and turn our attention to Teoscar Hernandez. He's had an excellent first season in Dodger Blue, but has not looked like himself in the postseason.

He's hitting .200 with two extra-base hits and a 32.5 percent strikeout rate in 11 playoff games. Tonight, he'll have to contend with Yankees ace Gerrit Cole, whose had his number in their past meetings.

The two have squared off 26 times, and Hernandez is hitting just .160 with a 26.9% strikeout rate against Cole. This history further accentuates Hernandez's splits.

The difference is not drastic, but it's clear that the Dodgers' slugger sees the ball better from lefties. His average is 27 points lower, and his ISO is 80 against righties than lefties.

Given that Hernandez will likely see Cole for his first two at-bats and then a nasty right-hander out of the pen, the chances of him being involved in the Dodgers' run production tonight are bleak.
