Shayne Trail breaks down his favorite NRFI/YRFI bets of the day below, but you can follow all of his bets in the Action Network app.
Matchup | A. Nola (Phillies) vs. B. Snell (Padres) |
First Pitch | 4:35 p.m. ET |
The first game on today’s playoff slate is between the Philadelphia Phillies and the San Diego Padres.
These two teams achieved the NRFI yesterday and it’s shaping up to be the same today. Aaron Nola in the regular season was phenomenal to the NRFI, posting a 27-4 NRFI record with a 13-2 road NRFI split.
Nola has also been nothing short of phenomenal in the postseason. His most important matchups today will be against Juan Soto, who is 9-for-33, Josh Bell, who is 3-for-19, and Manny Machado, who is 1-for-13.
The Padres will counter with postseason veteran Blake Snell, who has also been phenomenal in the postseason this year. In the regular season, Snell posted a 21-3 NRFI record with a 13-2 home NRFI split.
Snell's most notable matchups today will be against JT Realmuto, who is 4-for-10, Nick Castellanos, who is 1-for-12, and Bryce Harper, who is 1-for-7.
Nola and Snell are today's No. 2 and No. 3 best NRFI options. FanDuel has this NRFI priced at -(142) while I have it priced at (-155). Giving a slight edge to the NRFI.
Pick: NRFI -142 (FanDuel)
Matchup | J. Taillon (Yankees) vs. J. Verlander (Astros) |
First Pitch | 7:37 p.m. ET |
The second game on today’s slate is between the New York Yankees and the Houston Astros.
The Yankees are coming off a Game 5 win and send Jameson Taillon to the mound. In the regular season, he posted today a 21-11 NRFI record with a 11-5 road NRFI split.
Tallion's most important matchups today will be against Trey Mancini, who is 3-for-15, José Altuve, who is 4-for-9, and Yordan Álvarez, who's 2-for-6.
The Astros will send out their ace, Justin Verlander, who was the best NRFI pitcher in the regular season, posting a 21-5 NRFI record with a perfect 13-0 home NRFI split.
His most noteworthy matchups are against Aaron Judge, who is 4-for-27, Giancarlo Stanton, who is 2-for-14, and Gleyber Torres, who is 4-for-21.
Despite Verlander being the best NRFI option on today’s slate, Taillon's NRFI record being not as strong as well as the power at the top of Houston's lineup makes this NRFI not playable at (-148).
Pick: Pass
