Yankees vs Pirates Best Bet: Value on Underdog
By Brit Devine
Picking against the Yankees might be a death wish, but I'm looking for the Pirates to capture the final game of this series today to avoid being swept.
The Yankees are rolling out Will Warren on the mound today. He was horrible in limiting MLB outings last season and saw his velocity drop almost 1.5 MPH across the board in his first start compared to where he was last season.
Andrew Heaney takes the mound for the Pirates, and he fared well in his first start against Miami but has a much tougher task today. I'm not expecting him to get through this unscathed, but I'm also expecting Warren to give up a few runs as well.
The Yankees aren't going to keep up their torrid home run pace after hitting over three dingers per game on average so far. Meanwhile. the Pirates are eventually going to improve on their lowly six home runs as a team so far this season.
This is a good spot to bet on regression from a hot Yankees offense.
Pick: Pirates ML +145
White Sox vs Tigers Best Bet: Back Chicago on Sunday
By Brit Devine
The White Sox seem to be undervalued this afternoon.
Detroit is starting promising young pitcher Jackson Jobe, who didn't have his best stuff in his first start of the season. There will be some variance in his starts as he further develops, and that could certainly happen here even against the White Sox.
