With Spring Training fast approaching, it's time to take a look at where MLB Rookie of the Year odds stand in the American and National Leagues.
One of the Dodgers' many offseason signings, Roki Sasaki is the clear betting favorite for NL Rookie of the Year. In the AL, Yankees outfielder Jasson Dominguez is a slight favorite.

AL ROY Analysis
A fixture on top prospects lists for years, Yankees outfielder Jasson Dominguez enters the 2025 season as the betting favorite to win the AL ROY. He has a clear path to playing time with Juan Soto out of the picture and he might even be the Yankees' leadoff hitter.
Dominguez had an exciting big-league cameo in 2023, hitting four homers in eight games before suffering a torn UCL that required Tommy John surgery. He spent most of the 2024 season in the minors and also dealt with an oblique injury that sidelined him for over a month.
Trailing Dominguez is Red Sox outfielder Roman Anthony, who is a consensus top-two prospect in MLB (or the top prospect if you don't count Sasaki). Anthony spent last season torching Double- and Triple-A and received an invite to Spring Training. Boston isn't exactly loaded at outfielder, so it's feasible Anthony could break camp with a strong spring … as could Kristian Campbell.
Another Red Sox top prospect, Campbell raked at three minor-league levels last season (A+, Double-A, Triple-A), posting a combined slash line of .330/.439/.558 with 20 home runs and 24 stolen bases. He plays every infield position except first base, as well as the outfield. Campbell's path to playing time could be impacted by the arrival of Alex Bregman, who is expected to play second base.
As far as pitchers go, Jackson Jobe and Kumar Rocker are the names most people will be familiar with.
Jobe is the top pitching prospect on most lists. He debuted late last season and threw four scoreless innings in two relief outings in the regular season. His postseason wasn't as clean as he gave up three combined runs in two relief outings against the Astros and Guardians.
Rocker also debuted last season. He was electric against the Mariners in his debut — seven strikeouts over four innings of one-run ball — but scuffled in his last two starts.

NL ROY Analysis
As expected, Roki Sasaki is the betting favorite for NL ROY. The right-hander tore up NPB over four seasons, though he's actually coming off his "worst" season, posting a 2.35 ERA over 111 innings with a 129:32 strikeout-to-walk ratio.
Unless you're a Dodgers homer, it's hard to find value at Sasaki's listed odds (+225). Last season, Sasaki's new teammate, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, was listed at +180 to win the award. Yamamoto was plenty good in his debut season, but his bid was torpedoed by the obvious risk every pitcher has: injuries. Yamamoto only threw 90 innings in the regular season and ended up being a non-factor in the award chase.
For what it's worth, Sasaki has dealt with injuries in Japan and stated Tommy John surgery was recommended to him when he was 18 years old.
Nationals outfielder Dylan Crews is the second-favorite in this market. The consensus top prospect in the National League (if you don't count Sasaki), Crews posted a .219/.288/.353 slash with three homers and 12 stolen bases over 31 games last season.
Next up on the list is Cubs infielder Matt Shaw, who might be the best pick of the players featured on the top of the board. He has a clear path to playing time as the Cubs' third baseman if all goes according to plan. Chicago traded away Isaac Paredes and Vidal Brujan is the only other player listed under third base on the Cubs' depth chart. Shaw, who's seen as big-league ready, slashed .284/.379/.488 with 21 homers, 71 RBI and 31 stolen bases over 121 games across Double- and Triple-A last season and is a fixture atop every prospect list this preseason.
The Phillies' Andrew Painter presents as an intriguing long-shot pick at +4000. He looked to be on the cusp of making the Phils' big-league roster out of Spring Training back in 2023 before suffering a torn UCL that required Tommy John surgery. He didn't pitch in 2023, but reemerged in the Arizona Fall League, throwing 15 2/3 innings with 18 strikeouts against four walks and just four runs allowed.
With the major injury out of the way and promising AFL results, Painter enters this season as a consensus top-20 prospect. How much the Phillies push Painter and what role he'll play — The Athletic's Keith Law speculates Philadelphia could utilize him in a relief role to manage innings — is still to be determined.
