Yesterday, the St. Louis Cardinals played in the last game of the night as part of ESPN's Sunday Night Baseball Showcase. Today, the Cardinals will be in Cincinnati to take on the rival Reds.
The Reds play in arguably the game's best park for hitters at Great American Ballpark. That is a great location for a Same Game Parlay, particularly with Miles Mikolas and Chase Anderson on the mound.
Mikolas has had a solid season with 3.35 ERA on the year. However, he is 3-3 with a 5.56 ERA over his last seven starts. He also ranks in sixth percentile in Whiff Rate, 23rd percentile Strikeout Percentage, and in the 33rd percentile in both xBA and Chase Rate.
Anderson will be making his first start of the season. However, last year he was 2-4 with a 6.75 ERA, a far cry from his days in Milwaukee. He has a 4.50 ERA between two minor league affiliates this year and now has to face a hot Cardinals offense. Let's start with the MVP.
The Parlay (odds): +966
- Paul Goldschmidt To Record 2 Total Bases (-125)
- Nolan Arenado To Record A RBI (-135)
- Jonathan India to Record 2 Total Bases (+120)
- Donovan Solano to Record A Hit (-270)
Same-Game Parlay — St. Louis Cardinals vs. Cincinnati Reds
Paul Goldschmidt To Record 2 Total Bases
Paul Goldschmidt has been consistent all year, but he has been on a tear of late. Over his last 30 games, he is hitting .357 with 12 home runs, 33 runs batted in, and a 1.176 OPS. He also has loved hitting in Cincinnati this season. In six games at Great American Ballpark this year, Goldschmidt is hitting .482 with four home runs, 11 runs batted in, and a 1.500 OPS.
I think there is a good chance that Goldschmidt homers tonight whether it is off Anderson or a bad Reds bullpen. Goldschmidt's odds to hit a home run are +285, which I like as a straight bet. However, home runs can also be fickle at times, even in Cincinnati.
A 400 foot double will cover Goldschmidt's total bases or two singles. He is averaging 4.5 total bases in Cincinnati this season and 2.37 total bases.

Nolan Arenado To Record An RBI
Goldschmidt bats third in the Cardinals lineup right in front of Nolan Arenado, who has also been hot. In August, Arenado is hitting .366 with eight home runs, 25 runs batted in, and a 1.149 OPS in 24 games.
He has been an RBI machine for his entire career. Arenado has had 100 RBI in each of the last six years in which 162 games were played and he has on pace to do so again. He is averaging a little over an RBI per game this month.
Jonathan India To Record 2 Total Bases
Jonathan India has been one of the most successful Reds against Mikolas. He is 3-for-8 with two home runs and three runs batted in against Mikolas in his career. He also has picked it up of late. India is hitting .253 for the season, but he is .346 over his last seven games. He also has four home runs and 13 runs batted in over his last 30 games.
Similar to Goldschmidt, I am taking the guy who I think has a good chance to homer, but nerfing him to two total bases for the parlay. India has recorded two bases in each of his last five games.
Donovan Solano To Record A Hit
For the last leg, we have Donovan Solano to record a hit. Solano saw his hitting streak come to an end yesterday and he is just 1-for-5 against Mikolas. However, he is hitting .326 on the season. He is also hitting .390 over his last 15 games.
He has recorded at least one hit in 15 of his last 18 games and has had recorded nine multi-hit games in that span. I like him to get back in the column today.
