There's something different about baseball compared to any other sport, and it rings true again today: Weather plays a key role in the outcome every single day.

Whether the forecast shows high winds or cold temperatures, there are plenty of variables that can either strengthen or weaken an offense and help or hurt a pitching staff.

Every day, we're keeping an eye on the weather forecasts around MLB, and when the weather makes a difference in our betting for the day, we're here to share our best bet based on the weather forecasts.

We're seeing mild weather settle in across the MLB landscape early this week, but there are still a few spots with a solid combination of heat and winds that will help the ball carry nicely.

My favorite game today where the weather should give the bats a boost is the Colorado Rockies at Minnesota Twins.

The temperature is in the upper 70s, and winds are blowing out to straightaway center at 10 mph. Neither of those numbers jump off the page, but the combination of those two factors has led to a 33% increase in home runs and a 9% increase in runs scored in games with similar weather.

The "weather bump" makes me like over 8.5 runs Rockies vs. Twins.

The New York Yankees at Kansas City Royals game also features a nice combination of warm temperatures and winds blowing out. Kauffman Stadium could also be a good spot to bet a few batters for home-run props.

Pick: Over 8.5

Some light showers are possible, but there's really not much rain around.

My thinking is that if the game starts dry and some drizzle moves in, they'll play through it. If the drizzle starts pregame they might late start but will eventually play.
