Editor's Note: Monday's White Sox-Guardians game has been postponed because of inclement weather.

White Sox vs. Guardians No Runs First Inning (-124)
Matchup | White Sox (Keuchel) vs. Guardians (Bieber) |
First Pitch | 6:10 p.m. ET |
Books Available | FanDuel |
Dallas Keuchel is an obscure NRFI pitcher. He achieved a YRFI in his first start of 2022, but he will look to bounce back today. His first-inning ERA in 2021 was not the most appealing at 4.80 with a 1.57 WHIP, but he still managed to accumulate a respectable NRFI record at 21-10.
To find Keuchel's true NRFI potential is backing him in a division game, as he is 17-3 against AL Central foes since 2020, including 11-1 on the road.
Keuchel's NRFI record against the Guardians is 4-0 since 2020, and he's 10-1 during that same span when appearing in the first game of the series.
A great matchup Keuchel will have to start him off is against Myles Straw, who is 0-for-4 in his career. His next batter is another great situation. The Steven Kwan saga is finally over. His .385 batting average is notable, but he is 0-for-11 in his last 11 at-bats and doesn't have a hit yet at home this season.
On the other side of this game, Shane Bieber is a great candidate for the NRFI Hall of Fame. Despite battling injuries last year, Bieber still holds an outstanding NRFI record of 16-2 since 2021. He started off 2022 on the right foot as well with a 2-0 NRFI record out the gate.
Finding Bieber’s NRFI potential is fairly easy since he is so dominant in the first inning. In just 2021 he posted a 1.69 ERA with 22 strikeouts in 16 first innings pitched.
Bieber is a perfect 6-0 to the NRFI against the White Sox since 2020 and 11-1 to the NRFI at home. Like Keuchel, Bieber’s best NRFI potential comes when he is playing in a division game where he holds an amazing 19-1 NRFI record since 2020. Taking this one more season back it gets even better at 29-4.
Luis Robert is projected to bat second and that should be an easy out for Bieber. Robert is 1-for-12 (.083) in his career against him. Behind him will be Jose Abreu who’s only hitting lefties out the gate for a lousy .167 and is 1-for-16 in his last 17 at-bats. The White Sox haven’t achieved a YRFI in their last three games.
The hitting conditions will be cold, looking to only be in the low 40s. On top of the cold, there is slight rain projected at a 32% chance.
Look to pair Bieber to continue his success, and Keuchel to bounce back. Take the NRFI between the White Sox/Guardians.
As always, six outs to glory…
