The Cubs are the underdogs today.
Shota Imanaga has started the season in great form, allowing just one run over 11 innings pitched.
The left-hander has posted solid numbers against this Padres lineup, holding them to a .217 batting average in a small sample of 23 at-bats.
Meanwhile, the Cubs’ offense has been on fire, scoring 35 runs over their last three games.
Pick: Cubs Run Line -1 (-117)

Randy Vasquez is coming off a four-walk performance, but I’m viewing this as a bounce-back spot.
He made huge leaps last year in control, finishing with a 6.7% BB% which meant a 2.6 BB/9 ratio. Most season-long projection systems have Vazquez closer to a 3.2 BB/9 pitcher this season, which means if he pitched 6 innings you’d expect around 2.2 walks.
This isn’t a great matchup as the Cubs have been hot and were a top-10 team in walk rate last season, but I have this projected closer to 2.2 walks and am trusting the longer sample of him as a pitcher.
Pick: Randy Vasquez Under 2.5 Walks (-150)
