If you're a fan of big-city teams duking it out for titles, this is the baseball season for you.

And if betting numbers reflect any opinion of the general public, that is indeed the appetite of fans.

The Yankees, Mets and Dodgers are the teams that have been wagered on the most to win the futures/world-series-odds">World Series, and the three teams also represent the biggest liabilities for a majority of sportsbooks.

At BetMGM, the Yankees have received the most bets and the most handle, at 15.6% and 22.2% respectively.

They opened the season at +1000 to win at 28th World Series title, and the Yankees now sit atop the odds board at +325.

The other New York ball club, the Mets, have tracked 10.8% of the tickets and 13.1% of the handle. They started at +2000 prior to the year, but that has dipped down to +650 thanks to strong play all season.

On the other coast, the Dodgers have maintained bettors' respect after starting the year as World Series favorites.

After opening at +500, the Dodgers are now +350 and chugging along through the regular as they have done for years.

Los Angeles accounts for 11.7% of the tickets and 12.8% of the handle in the market.

Each squad is currently at the top of its respective division, with the Mets being the only team not far ahead of the competition. The Braves are three games back of them.

If the three teams maintain their current form heading into the postseason, we're in for a wild ride come October.
