Texas' Game 4 plan changed after Jon Gray logged a long relief outing after Max Scherzer’s exit (due to injury) in Game 3. With that being the case, the Rangers will look to Andrew Heaney to start Game 4. Dane Dunning could piggyback off Heaney's start before handing the rest of the game over to the bullpen.
Meanwhile, the D'backs are going with what is working. Their bullpen has been great in the playoffs and they'll give the ball to lefty Joe Mantiply to start what'll be a bullpen game.
That said, runs should be aplenty in this start.
Heaney held a 4.15 ERA against a 4.55 xERA in the regular season. He also had a 9.4% walk rate and a 23.6% strikeout rate. However, he has a 6.00 ERA over six innings in the playoffs.
Texas' lineup has fared well in the playoffs. Obviously, the Rangers will see a mix of righties and lefties, but the bulk of the innings could go to Ryan Thompson, Luis Frías and/or Kyle Nelson as Arizona will likely approach this game similar to the way it did Game 4 of the NLCS. The top of the Rangers' lineup will be key as Texas has five hitters with a wRC+ over 100 in the playoffs. Marcus Semien and the bottom of the order have been dragging, but Corey Seager and Adolis García have been on fire as both are slugging above .620. Evan Carter, Mitch Garver and Josh Jung are also slugging above .530, which should allow Texas to slug a few runs home.
The Texas bullpen has been a weakness, so look for the D'backs to take advantage late in the game.
The D'backs have a reliable bullpen, but it can be top-heavy. Remember, in Game 4 of the NLCS, this pitching staff allowed five runs. Arizona has three arms with an xFIP below 4.00 (Kevin Ginkel, Frías and Thompson), but Paul Sewald gave up a homer to Seager in Game 1, so their anchor has seen some bumps in the road.
Lastly, the D'backs have six batters with a wRC+ over 100 in the playoffs. Christian Walker is below that mark, but his walk rate is nearly 20%. Arizona doesn't hit many homers, but can certainly work the count and make the game stressful on Texas' pitching staff. Additionally, Arizona has five hitters with a slugging percentage over .460.

Betting Pick & Prediction
This game screams over. Arizona and Texas have powerful lineups and the pitching has taken a backseat. Heaney isn't the most dominant starter and although the D'backs have a solid bullpen, it's not good enough to completely shut down the Rangers. Take the over in this game and play it to 10.
