The Cincinnati Reds host the San Francisco Giants on Thursday March 27 on MLB Opening Day. First pitch from Great American Ball Park is scheduled for 4:10 p.m. EDT; the game will be broadcast on FDSOH.
The Reds enter the new season with a new manager (Terry Francona) and a superstar with an MVP ceiling (Elly De La Cruz). They're among the teams with some helium as many experts see them blowing past their win total of 78.5. As for the Giants, they made a splash over the offseason by signing SS Willy Adames and future Hall of Famer Justin Verlander.

Giants vs Reds Preview, Opening Day Prediction
I'm starting off the year with a Reds-focused SGP that centers around a strong performance from starter Hunter Greene.
Greene posted an excellent 2.75 ERA last season as he took strides in solidifying his spot as the Reds' ace. He's already been stretched out to up to 82 pitches in an outing during spring training.
Last season against the Giants, Greene shined as he struck out 11 over six shutout innings. He also notched at least five strikeouts in his first 24 outings. He will look to establish his high-velocity fastball and get shiffs on his slider. Throughout his career, his slider has a 17.5% whiff rate.
The under 11.5 (an alternate line) in this one feels safe knowing that Logan Webb also has a historically good track record. He can pitch longer into games, and in a cold-weather game, the ball won’t fly as we know it can in a hitter friendly park.
In an Opening Day with Greene on the mound, I'm backing the Reds to start off their season with a win
