Cardinals vs Braves Preview

Cardinals, Braves Betting Preview: Strider Scratched
Spencer Strider was supposed to start for the Braves tonight but was surprisingly placed on the injured list last night after suffering a hamstring injury while playing catch.
As of writing, we don't know who's starting tonight for Atlanta. It's expected to be a bullpen game, and we're likely going to get a dose of the likes of Dylan Lee, Michael Petersen and others.
The thing is, I don't think it matters much who starts. I'm bullish on the Braves right now, and I'm looking to profit off of them before sportsbooks adjust to their turnaround from an absolutely abysmal start to the season.
The Braves offense we've come to know as one of the best in the league has started to look like it over the last couple of games. I'm not one to buy into momentum or a hot streak, but over the last four games — all wins — Atlanta has scored at least four runs in each and six or more three times.
The hitters we expect to hit are starting to hit.
The Braves are still anxiously awaiting the return of Ronald Acuna Jr., of course, but Austin Riley and Marcell Ozuna are tearing the cover off the ball. Sean Murphy has provided a nice boost since returning from the injured list, as has Alex Verdugo since the Braves signed him and inserted him in the leadoff spot.
We've also seen signs of life from Michael Harris II and Matt Olson of late, too.
Andre Pallante is likely in for a rough night for the Cardinals, and if and when he leaves the game, the Atlanta offense will be facing a tired and depleted Cardinals bullpen that will likely not have Phil Maton or JoJo Romero available, as both have pitched the last two days.
Cardinals vs Braves Prediction, Betting Analysis
Lines have been all over the place for this game today as sportsbooks have struggled to set a price point with Atlanta's starting pitcher in question, but I bet the Braves on the full game moneyline at -135. I'd bet that to around -140.
Pick: Braves ML -135 (Play to -140)
