Yesterday we broke even, but today, we're going to finish the weekend strong.
I've found one starter who's being massively undervalued in his return from injury. Then there's a former All-Star who's in for a rough day against a divisional foe.
Our Action Labs Props Tool grades each prop on a scale from 1-10, and I'll be sure to include the grade for each of my betting recommendations in my discussions below.
Alex Cobb Over/Under 4.5 Strikeouts (-118/-114)
San Francisco Giants @ Pirates | |
First Pitch | 1:35 p.m. ET |
Best Line: Giants -195 | DraftKings |
Alex Cobb will be returning from injury to make his first start since May 29th, and he has a great matchup.
Cobb will be lined up against the Pittsburgh Pirates. The Pirates' lineup has been one of the worst in the league this season, as they enter with the third-lowest team batting average in the majors.
Along with not collecting hits, there's a ton of swing-and-miss in this lineup. Pittsburgh has the second-highest strikeout rate against right-handed pitching.
Prior to his injury, Cobb's stuff was ticking up this season, and so was his strikeout rate. Cobb's punch-out rate is up by four percent this year.
Cobb has gone way over this total in six of his eight starts this season, and if he's fully healthy, this could cash very early.
Pick: Over 4.5 (-118)
Action Labs Grade: 7/10
George Springer Over/Under 0.5 Hits (-175/+130)
Yankees @ Blue Jays | |
First Pitch | 1:37 p.m. ET |
Best Line: Blue Jays +140 | DraftKings |
The Yankees and the Blue Jays are going to be battling it out all season long in the race for the AL East crown.
That means that Luis Severino will see a lot of George Springer, which hasn't been fun for Springer historically.
Springer is just 2-for-26 in his career against Severino with a 39.3 strikeout rate. Severino is coming off of two of his most dominant outings of the season, as he's recorded 20 strikeouts and only eight hits in his last two starts.
Meanwhile, Springer has had a rough month of June. He enters this game hitting just .228. He also hasn't made much contact this month, as his whiff rate is now in the bottom 22% of all qualified hitters.
Severino should keep Springer quiet through his first two appearances at minimum, but if he doesn't go deep, the Yankees' bullpen has been one of the best in baseball and should pick up right where Severino left off.
Pick: Under 0.5 Hits (+130)
Action Labs Grade: 10/10
