On Thursday, we head to the desert to take a NRFI Between two National League teams: the Milwaukee Brewers and Arizona Diamondbacks.
The Brewers will send out one of their aces in Brandon Woodruff, who is 17-3 to the NRFI this season with a 9-2 road NRFI split. When facing hitters the first time through the order, Woodruff has dominated. He has only allowed 32 hits in 165 at-bats, good for a .194 average.
Here is how Woodruff has fared in the past against two key Diamondbacks hitters:
- Ketel Marte: 2-for-7
- Christian Walker: 1-for-4
Josh Rojas is projected to bat leadoff today and he has been struggling at the plate this past week, going 3- for-21.
The Diamondbacks will counter with Merrill Kelly, who is a solid 17-9 to the NRFI. Kelly has been one of the more reliable NRFI pitchers in Arizona's rotation.
Here is how Kelly has done in the past against these Brewers hitters:
- Christian Yelich: 1-for-10
- Willy Adames: 2-for-6
- Rowdy Tellez: 0-for-3
- Hunter Renfroe: 1-for-4
Not only has Kelly dominated Yelich, but he has also held the lineup to a collective 4-for-23. It should be noted that Tellez, who is projected to bat fourth today, is struggling at the plate at just 3-for-16 in his last 19 at-bats.
Lastly, coming into today both teams are riding a hot, 9-1 NRFI streak. Bet on the streak to continue one more time today with these two proficient NRFI pitchers.
As always, six outs to glory…
