On Tuesday, we head to the desert to find value in the NRFI between two National League teams: the Phillies and the Diamondbacks:

The Phillies will send out Aaron Nola. Coming into today, Nola is 21-4 to the NRFI, with an impressive 10-2 road NRFI split. When facing hitters the first time through the order, Nola has held them in check, only allowing a .180 average.

Here's how Nola has fared in the past against these Arizona hitters:

  • Christian Walker: 0-for-2
  • Daulton Varsho: 0-for-2
  • Josh Rojas: 1-for-3

Ketel Marte, who is projected to bat fourth today, is struggling at the plate of late. Marte has gone just 4-for-21 in his last seven days.

Right behind him is a struggling Josh Rojas, who has gone 4-for-25 in his last seven.

Both are hitting under a .200 average.

The Diamondbacks will counter with their ace, Zac Gallen. Coming into today, Gallen is 20-4 to the NRFI, with an excellent 10-2 home NRFI split.

When facing teams' lead-off hitters Gallen has dominated. He has only allowed a .167 average (and has issued three walks) to the 66 lead-off hitters he has faced.

Here's how Gallen has fared in the past against these Phillies hitters:

  • J.T. Realmuto: 0-for-3
  • Rhys Hoskins: 1-for-3
  • Nick Castellanos: 1-for-2
  • Kyle Schwarber: 1-for-2

The Phillies, to a surprise, are a terrible YRFI team when on the road. They NRFI on the road 80% of the time in 2022, with only the Pirates, Marlins and Tigers being worse.

Bet on these two 20-win NRFI pitchers to continue their successful 2022 NRFI campaigns.

Take the NRFI between the Phillies and Diamondbacks.
