  • Tuesday's MLB slate is loaded, which means there are plenty of player props available on the board at PrizePicks.
  • We're focused on two games for today's player prop parlays: Diamondbacks vs. Giants and Angels vs. Mariners.
  • Check out all five of Tony Sartori's top picks, including Shohei Ohtani and Christian Walker below.

Tuesday's MLB slate features 15 games, which means there are plenty of player props to take advantage of across the board.

Player props have become among the most popular bets in the industry, but while the amount of states with legalized gambling is growing, some may feel left out.

Enter PrizePicks.

With PrizePicks, you get the opportunity to essentially parlay game prop over/unders with cash payouts depending on how many you get correct on that day’s slate.

Therefore, let’s take a look at some of the options on Tuesday’s Major League Baseball slate and see where we can find some value to turn a profit.

A quick refresher if you aren’t familiar with PrizePicks: you can combine up to five different O/U player props to payout up to 10x your wager.

You can do a Flex Play or a Power Play. A Flex Play gives you lesser odds, but you can win money even if you don’t nail every pick. Meanwhile, a Power Play is similar to a parlay — it’s all or nothing.

Here’s how I would approach today’s MLB slate.

What is PrizePicks? A daily fantasy operator — meaning they’re available in more states (30) than sports betting is! — PrizePicks offers a unique opportunity for action on player props in which you parlay two or more plays together.

MLB PrizePicks Plays for Tuesday, Aug. 16

Jose Suarez Over 5 Strikeouts

We have the second matchup of this three-game AL West series with the Los Angeles Angels hosting the Seattle Mariners. Left-hander Jose Suarez is slated to take the mound for Los Angeles and should be a good candidate to back.

Through 14 pitching appearances this season, Suarez is 4-4 with a 4.04 ERA and 1.38 WHIP. While those numbers are not the greatest, Suarez has been in great form recently.

Over his last four starts, Suarez is 3-1 with a 2.57 ERA and 1.10 WHIP. Suarez reached at least five strikeouts in three of those four outings and will have a solid opportunity to do so once again in this matchup against the Mariners.

Across his last three appearances against Seattle, Suarez has gone 2-0 with a 1.17 ERA and 1.13 WHIP, reaching at least five strikeouts in all three of those games.

The Mariners rank just 18th in the league in K% when facing left-handed pitchers since July 1.

Magneuris Sierra Over 0.5 Total Bases

We're also backing a few Angels hitters in this game as they're slated to go against left-hander Robbie Ray. Through 23 starts this season, Ray has gone 8-8 with a 3.90 ERA and 1.19 WHIP.

Entering this game in poor form, Ray should be a solid fade candidate. Over his last four starts, Ray is 0-2 with a 6.16 ERA and 1.79 WHIP.

Magneuris Sierra enters this game in good form, racking up at least one hit in three of his last four games.

Sierra should continue against Ray, as he's 2-for-3 in his career with a triple.

Shohei Ohtani Hitter Fantasy Score Over 6

The other hitter we're backing in this game is two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani. Ohtani is having yet another great season and enters this game in good form, going over this fantasy total in two of his last three games.

We should not expect to see any regression from Ohtani for the rest of the year at the plate, as he boasts a .385 xwOBA, .270 xBA and .553 xSLG.

Ohtani's success often comes with the long ball, which could come into play against Ray. Over his last seven starts, Ray has surrendered eight home runs.

Geraldo Perdomo Over 0.5 Total Bases

We have the second matchup of this four-game NL West series with the San Francisco Giants hosting the Arizona Diamondbacks. We're backing a couple of Diamondbacks hitters who will face right-hander Jakob Junis.

In 14 pitching appearances this season, Junis is 4-3 with a 3.78 ERA and 1.20 WHIP. We should not expect any positive regression from Junis, as he possesses a .314 xwOBA, .252 xBA and .415 xSLG this year.

Junis enters this game in particularly poor form. Over his last five starts, Junis owns an 0-2 record with a 7.16 ERA and 1.93 WHIP.

The first Diamondbacks hitter we're backing is Geraldo Perdomo. There's no denying that it has been a tough year for Perdomo, but we should see some slight positive regression soon. Perdomo's metrics all outrank his actual stats, and this positive regression could be realized against a struggling Junis.

All we need from Perdomo is one hit, which should be attainable against a pitcher who has allowed five or more hits in five of his last six starts.

Christian Walker Hitter Fantasy Score Over 5.5

The other Diamondbacks hitter we are backing is Christian Walker. Walker has been Arizona's best hitter this season, and his metrics are excellent. He boasts a .375 xwOBA, .255 xBA and .517 xSLG.

Walker has been seeing the ball well recently, racking up five hits and two home runs over his last two games. I expect this strong stretch to continue against Junis.

When facing right-handed pitchers, Walker possesses a ton of power, posting a .452 SLG. Of his 28 home runs this season, 22 have come against right-handers.
