Tuesday’s game between the Nationals and Phillies will feature a battle of aces between Washington’s MacKenzie Gore and Philadelphia’s Zack Wheeler.
This is a rematch from Opening Day, where the Phillies won 7-3 in extra innings after Gore struck out 13 while Wheeler struck out eight.
I’m banking on a repeat result: the Phillies win after both pitchers shine on the mound.
Gore has struck out seven or more in five of his six starts this year. He’s a strikeout machine, with 53 strikeouts across his first 35 innings.
Wheeler has been similarly dominant, eclipsing seven strikeouts in five of six starts with 50 total punch-outs in 37 innings.
